X4 M Competition with Manhart exclusive items pack
It's been a few months since BMW introduced the revamped X3 M and X4 M, as well as their wild Competition versions. Both models arrive with a specific aesthetic, an adjustment of the most sporty version of the brand and an interesting engine in its guts. Now, the most nonconformist will also have at their disposal the Manhart MHX4 600.
As standard, the Munich models are equipped with an in-line 6-cylinder engine that provides impressive performance. The high-revving unit features M TwinPower Turbo technology and with its 3.0-litre cylinder capacity generates a maximum power of 480 hp at 6,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 600 Nm between 2,600 and 5,600 rpm.
Those who find this little, can opt for the version of this biturbo engine developed for the BMW X3 M Competition and BMW X4 M Competition. It raises the power figure by 30 hp and reaches 510 hp. The former accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, while the Competition versions reach 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.
On an aesthetic level, there are also several elements with a specific M design, designed to optimize the cooling air flow and aerodynamics. But we know that in the world of aftermarket specialists there are a lot of nonconformists on the loose. This is the case of Manhart, which prepared a round product.
On its exterior it dresses in glossy black with gray stickers to achieve a much more sinister appearance. Its height has been reduced by 30 mm thanks to new springs signed by H&R, which are combined with a set of 22-inch Alpine light-alloy wheels. They are shod with high-performance tires.
The tires are sized 255/35 ZR22 on the front axle and 295/30 ZR22 on the rear. You can also choose a Concave One wheel set as an option. These measure 21 x 9 at the front and 21 x 10.5 at the rear. In this case, they are shod with high-performance tires in dimensions 265/35 at the front and 305/30 at the rear.
Nor is carbon fiber lacking in elements such as the front splitter, air intakes, side skirts, mirror housings and the rear diffuser with four round exhaust outlets. More carbon fiber components can be found inside. All BMW logos have been replaced by the Manhart emblem.
As its name implies, the powerful 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter engine has gone from the original 510 hp and 650 Nm to a negligible 635 hp and 780 Nm. It was made possible by an MHtronik Powerbox update to the ECU software, optional race tubes without catalytic converters and the new high-performance exhaust system.
The new exhaust system has the function of valve control and four 100 mm diameter pipes. Manhart lets you eliminate standard OPF/GPF catalysts and filters. Regarding performance, Manhart hasn't announced the figures for now, but we'll find out soon. Its price starts at 120,000 euros.
