Yaris GR SPORT: a version inspired by the achievements of the Gazoo Racing brand

Toyota expands its range of compact SUVs from the Yaris Cross range by introducing a new GR SPORT version inspired by the achievements of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing brand, which won numerous world championships. Assim, or Yaris Cross joins the models that will receive GR Sport versions, such as Corolla, Toyota C-HR and Yaris.

Exterior...The new Yaris GR SPORT distinguishes itself by the appearance of the new 18-inch aluminum wheels with 10 spokes and by its brilliant usinagem.

The sporty details also include a new rear diffuser and front bumper with an exclusive high-gloss 'hot stamp' black mesh surface and discreet GR emblem.

The new Dynamic Gray finish is according to the GR SPORT signature, now also available as a two-ton option with contrasting roof and black pillars.

Inside the cabin, the front sports benches have new braised zinc with vermelha stitching, and the similar shiny stitching was also applied without flounce in the lever of change.

Premium GR SPORT stitches in black perforated Ultrasuede™ material, with artificial leather reinforcements and green stitching, are also available as options.

The GR logo is prominently displayed on the front headrests, not the starter button, on the instrument panel and on the steering wheel, while the doors and instrument panel feature distinctive GR SPORT emblems in metallic silver.

Dynamic performance...The Yaris Cross has proven handling quality, mainly thanks to the GA-B platform – the same used for the Yaris Hatchback model, crowned with the title of European Car of the Year 2021 – which guarantees a low center of gravity, a rigid and balanced body.

However, the GR SPORT receives a more precise steering, which is achieved by an additional adjustment of the suspension, providing the rider with a better steering feeling, with less body roll and better grip.

In other aspects, the new GR SPORT maintains all the qualities that will allow the Yaris Cross model to win the title of best city car in the world in 2022 (World Urban Car of the Year 2022).

Practicality...The practicality is provided by the bipartite rear bench, whose costs can be reduced in the proportion of 40:20:40, as well as by the rebateable surface obtained that allows to increase the capacity of the 397-liter bag-holders (with all the benches non-local) at a maximum of 1097 l.

A baggage solution designed in this way offers maximum internal space, all within compact external dimensions, ideal for agile driving in urban areas.

As a model with a rich package of equipment, positioned side by side with the Yaris Cross Elegant and Adventure versions, or Yaris Cross GR SPORT, it has a rich specification of standard equipment, including dual-zone climate control, heated front benches, as well as a darkened rear glass.

The GR SPORT is also equipped with the Toyota T-Mate system, a package of advanced safety and assistance resources for motorists.

Hybrid unit...The Toyota Yaris Cross GR SPORT is powered by the 1.5-liter three-cylinder Hybrid Dynamic Force engine from Toyota. Over the course of two pistons in the cylinders of the power unit, very fast combustion, high compression rate of 14:1, as well as temperature and pressure controls help the power unit to reach a maximum thermal efficiency of 40%.
