Euro NCAP: Tesla Model Y gets "almost perfect score and record", according to the agency

Happy faces at Tesla, even if there's one less Model Y. Euro NCAP also tested the Model 3's bigger brother in a series of new crash tests and awarded it an unprecedented high score. The Tesla Model Y not only gets the maximum five stars, but also the highest detailed score to date in two of the four categories under current testing criteria. The Euro NCAP therefore speaks of an 'almost perfect and record score'. The Tesla Model Y(image above) scores 97% for adult occupant protection and 98% for safety assistance systems. By testing these systems on the test track, the Model Y proved to be “remarkably capable of avoiding collisions with other cars, pedestrians and cyclists,” according to Euro NCAP. “Tesla has shown that nothing but the best is enough for them and we hope they will continue to pursue that goal in the future,” said Secretary General Michiel van Ratingen of the testing agency. For child protection, the Tesla Model Y receives a score of 87% and for pedestrians 82%. Ora Funky Cat High praise for Tesla, but the Chinese are also impressive. This was different in the past. Euro NCAP ripped the electric Ora Funky Cat and plug-in hybrid Wey Coffee 01 against the wall and they too came away with five stars. “The Great Wall, like Nio, Lynk & Co and MG, shows that it can build cars that can match the best that Europe has to offer”, concludes Euro NCAP. Ora Funky scores 92% for adult occupant protection, 83% for children and 74% for pedestrians. Standard security systems are rated at 93 percent. A wonderful score. Wey Coffee 01 successively scores 91, 87, 79 and 94 percent. Kia Niro Not just the Model Y test results, some people will have waited. Kia Niro's are, of course, also of great importance (certainly in our country). The successor to the hit number takes off with four stars, but there are five with the optional ‘Drive Wise’ assistance systems package. De Niro receives a score of 91% for adult occupant protection, 84% for children and 75% for pedestrians. Standard security systems offer a score of 60 percent, the optional package increases to 79 percent. Kia Niro Hyundai Motor Company's electric Genesis GV60 was also tested. He does it a little better than Niro. With its standard security systems, the GV60 is good for five stars. The GV60 scores an average of 88% for occupant protection and 88% for security systems. Pedestrian protection can still be improved, according to Euro NCAP. The EV gets 63% for this.
