Mitsubishi has introduced a new generation of the ASX crossover, which looks like a copy of the Renault Captur. The car will be produced at Renault's Spanish factory and will go on sale in March 2023.

The car is built on the CMF-B modular platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, it is a compact crossover designed specifically for Europe. The front of the car is made according to the Dynamic Shield design concept, the Mitsubishi logo is located on the grille.

The car will be available with four power plants. One was a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, two electric motors (starter alternator and main motor), multi-mode automatic transmission and a 10.5 kWh battery.

The second hybrid configuration (HEV) includes a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors, a multi-mode automatic transmission and a 1.3 kWh battery. For its part, the "mild" hybrid combines a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with direct fuel injection and a six-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (7DCT). The base version of the new ASX range is a conventional 1.0-litre turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) is located in the center of the dashboard, while the Multi-Sense system, controlled via SDA, allows the driver to select the driving mode according to their preferences. Driving safety is enhanced by advanced driver assistance systems, including the MI-PILOT system, which combines the functions of adaptive cruise control (ACC) and lane keeping system (LCA).
