Monster SP: even sportier and more equipped

The Ducati Monster was redesigned last season with a new mechanical concept that left behind some concepts that seemed immovable in the model, among others its traditional multi-tubular steel chassis, which was now made up of a double-beam aluminum structure as in her sportier sisters

The arrival of the new SP version, which has a decoration inspired by the MotoGP and Ducati models, as well as better components of a more sporty nature, will accentuate this spirit in one of the naked bikes, which is a reference among sports bike lovers.

NEW COMPONENTS...The new Ducati Monster SP has updated part of its list of components to achieve a reference equipment for lovers of sporty driving. These include new Öhlins suspension, Brembo Stylema front calipers, a Termignoni homologated silencer, Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, a steering damper and a Lithium-Ion battery.

In addition, efficiency and safety have been increased by improving the electronic system, which has been recalibrated to be more efficient from a sporting point of view, as well as the introduction of a new, smoother driving mode for rain.

MYTHICAL ENGINE...The Monster's engine is still the V2 Testastretta 11° with 4-valve cylinder heads and desmodromic distribution, which is water-cooled and offers a power of 111 hp. Its front chassis inspired by that of the Panigale V4, is a light and compact aluminum double beam, which is fixed directly to the engine heads.

Now, this concept that implies maximum simplicity in the structure of the motorcycle, a philosophy that is as simple as it is effective, has gone a step further with the arrival of this Monster SP with higher quality components that make it a lighter, more efficient motorcycle. and fun in sporty driving, and also more aggressive aesthetically.

MOTOGP COLORS...The sportier orientation of the Monster SP is appreciated from the first moment due to its new decoration that has the colors of the 2022 version of the Desmosedici GP of the Ducati Lenovo Team. This is complemented by an Öhlins NIX30 fork that features a gold anodised exterior treatment.

Other differences are the new homologated exhaust silencer signed by Termignoni, a red seat, integrated with the tail, the Monster SP logo on the passenger seat cover and the Ducati logo on the fuel tank, which is larger and inspired by in the graphics of the Panigale V4.

APPRECIABLE DIFFERENCES...The new Öhlins fork is fully adjustable and weighs 600g less than the one used on the Monster and Monster +, in addition to increasing its sensitivity, and also the ground clearance, which brings as consequently, a greater angle of inclination. The suspensions allow a more sporty regulation, which improves its dynamic qualities and opens up the possibility of having fun on a circuit as well.

The new brakes, which have Brembo Stylema calipers and aluminum hubs for the 320 mm front brake discs, which are 500 g lighter than those fitted to the Monster, and achieve a greater performance and also more agility thanks to the reduction of inertia in the front axle.

IMPROVED ELECTRONICS...The electronic management has received a general recalibration of all driving modes and thus also of the aids, which have been adjusted to the changes made to the frame, which allow greater sporting efficiency. A new riding mode for wet asphalt has also been added, which has been designed to offer greater motorcycle safety on surfaces in these conditions.

Standard equipment continues to include cornering ABS, traction control and front wheel lift control, all adjustable to various levels of intervention. The sporty character of the new Monster SP is also underlined by Launch Control, which guarantees ultra-fast starts.

LIGHTER...The new chassis components have managed to reduce weight, to which the arrival of the new Lithium-Ion battery contributes significantly. In total, the SP version of the Ducati Monster has lost around 2 kg in running order compared to the standard model, which was already a benchmark for lightness in the category, even though the SP now has a steering damper and a screen.

The sporting potential of the Monster SP is reinforced by the original mounting of Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. The Ducati Monster SP will arrive at Ducati sales points from January 2023, also in a version with power limited to 35 kW to circulate with an A2 license.
