MERCEDES-BENZ

ESTE EXCLUSIVO MERCEDES-BENZ SL 60 AMG ROADSTER DE 1997 ESTÁ À VENDA NA HOLANDA

Absolute rarity: Exclusive Mercedes-Benz SL 60 AMG from 1997 for sale in the Netherlands

The fourth generation of the star's iconic convertible, the Mercedes-Benz SL R129, was presented in 1989 and was active until 2001. In addition, this model featured four imposing versions signed by AMG, which included the SL 55, SL 60, SL 70 and SL 73 with a huge 7.3-liter V12 engine under its elongated hood. Although the latter is the least frequent nowadays, in Europe it is possible to find units of its smaller brothers more easily, such as this exclusive Mercedes-Benz SL 60 AMG Roadster from 1997 that has just gone on sale.

Available with a canvas roof and with a retractable hardtop, the SL 60 AMG R129 is the mid-range version within the AMG family based on the fourth generation of the ‘Sport Leicht’. This version was marketed between 1993 and 1998 as a replacement for the previous 500 SL 6.0 AMG. It had the same M119 mechanics, but slightly increased power and torque.

Specifically, the Mercedes-Benz SL 60 AMG Roadster is equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V8 engine that develops 381 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 580 Nm from 3,750 rpm. The block appears coupled to an automatic transmission that sends all the power to the rear axle. According to factory specifications, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

This particular Mercedes-Benz was licensed in 1997, and the main feature is the Designo Green paintwork on the exterior. The car is in impeccable condition, despite accumulating 75,000 kilometers and being 25 years old. It rests on a set of 18-inch AMG wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires in two sizes: 245/40 at the front and 275/35 at the rear. It also has a leather interior, xenon headlamps and a panoramic glass roof among its standard equipment.

This 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL 60 AMG Roadster is currently on sale through Dutch specialist Autoleitner, with an announced sales price of €99,500.
