Silverado LTZ 2024: new facelift of the model incorporates important changes

We have known for some time that Chevrolet was working to update its Silverado HD pick-up, and finally the North American manufacturer has revealed the facelift of the model, which incorporates changes to the exterior and, above all, to the interior.

Before talking about the cabin, it is worth mentioning some exterior modifications, such as a redesigned grille and headlights that seem to be inherited from the GMC Sierra, especially the daytime running lights. The lower part of the front, which includes tow hooks as standard, is also of a new design.

The rest of the vehicle remains largely unchanged, except for new Chevrolet badges for the bodywork and six new exterior colors (Sterling Gray, Dark Ash, Radiant Red, Auburn Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Meteorite Metallic). The six-position Multi-Flex tailgate is still available as an option, and a higher-powered ZR2 version will soon be available.

As we pointed out before, the most interesting thing about the Silverado HD 2024 is its interior, as long as you opt for the LT finish, at least, since it is from this tier of the line that a new configurable 12.3-inch instrument panel is included, a 13.4-inch multimedia touchscreen and an induction charger for smartphones, for example.

In terms of technology, the new Silverado HD adds adaptive cruise control designed for towing, which maintains a greater safety distance from previous vehicles due to the added weight. There's also an optional head-up display and the blind spot assist covers a larger area, for example.

Under the hood of the Silverado, the same gasoline and diesel engines are offered, specifically a 6.6-liter V8 block coupled as standard with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission, and a 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel that develops greater power and torque figures, in particular. 477 hp and 1,322 Nm.

The finish offer for the 2023 Silverado HD includes the well-known WT and Custom, designed for work, but also has the luxurious High Country and High Country Midnight Edition, which are positioned at the top of the model line and include chrome elements and wheels. 20 inches in diameter, for example.

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD will be officially unveiled tomorrow, September 29, at the State Fair of Texas 2022 event, and production will begin in the first half of 2023, although prices for the line are not yet known.
