Clone do Tesla Model 3 é revelado por US$ 26.000

Chinese manufacturer launches Tesla Model 3 clone

Chinese car maker Changan, one of the top three passenger transport manufacturers in China, has launched a new electric car. The external similarity to the Tesla Model 3 allows for talk of borrowing and leverage, and a more democratic price - 35% cheaper - could affect Elon Musk's car sales in China.

Indeed, the external resemblance to the Tesla Model 3 is seen: the nose of the car, where the hood connects to the bumper, looks suspiciously similar. Furthermore, the dimensions of electric vehicles are the same: the Shenlan SL03(in the image above) sedan is only 10 cm longer than the Model 3, and the width, height and wheelbase are almost the same. The interior is also done in a minimalist style with a large horizontal screen, like Elon Musk.

As for performance, the basic version covers 515 km on a single charge. Anyone who wants can order an increased battery, which gives 705 km. These parameters are comparable to those offered by Tesla before it stopped taking Model 3 orders in China - presumably due to very long lines, writes Electrek.

But the main advantage of Shenlan SL03 is the price. It starts at just 183,000 yuan (or 26,000 in US dollars). For comparison, the Model 3 in China costs 279,000 yuan.

The car battery was made in the CATL factory, the electronics were provided by Huawei.

The company received more than 15,000 orders in just a few hours after the car was announced. The first Shenlan SL03 sedans will reach owners later in the year. Over time, Changan plans to increase production to 15,000 units a month.

Last year Nio introduced a new model - the electric ET5, which was also called a direct competitor to the Tesla Model 3 with comparable cost but several technical advantages: Nio ET5 has a range of up to 1000 km, there is support for augmented reality (AR) as well as an autopilot mode.
