AUTONEWS
Sichuan provincial authorities and Southwestern Jiaotong University are testing an innovative magnetic pad vehicle. With their help, car developers managed to overcome the effects of Earth's gravity.
The test vehicle was placed in a permanent magnet array. At the same time, the road was laid with a good conductor. As a result, experts achieved the incredible: a 2.8-ton car hovered 3.5 cm above the road, like in some science fiction movie.
The track itself, prepared for such levitation, stretched only five miles. As for the car, it was possible to disperse it at 230 km/h.
This is not the first such experience for Jiaotong University. Not long ago, scientists tested a high-speed maglev train made from high-temperature superconductors. In six years, this scientific project will become commercial.
