MERCEDES-BENZ
The Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe will take its place in the German automaker's lineup as a counterpart to the two-door C and E-Class. These spy photos show the brand's new sports car racing around the Nürburgring.
The CLE has a roughly oval faux radiator grille with thin headlights angled to either side of the car.
The camouflage hides some design details, but a narrow opening is visible at the bottom of the front bumper. The car has a sleek profile with a curved roofline and a very short tail. There appears to be a "sharp" crease in the tailgate running diagonally upwards.
It can be seen from the rear that the CLE has a completely common trunk, that is, the novelty did not receive a hatchback body. The tail lights consist of an arc pointing downwards. The rear bumper hides the exhaust pipes.
The CLE class is based on the MRA-2 platform, which is also used in the new C class. This means that the two models can share common powertrains. Offerings could even include an electrified 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, fitted to the new AMG C63. Preliminary figures indicate that this engine delivers a total of 670 horsepower or 750 Nm of torque.
We still don't have images of the interior of the CLE class. Similarities to the C-Class mean the coupe can borrow technology from the new sedan. That would mean bigger screens for the dashboard and infotainment system.
Not long ago, our publication wrote that Mercedes-Benz published the first image of the interior of the new EQE SUV electric crossover. Mercedes-Benz has shown the interior of the upcoming EQE SUV for the first time ahead of its world debut on October 16.
