LAMBORGHINI URUS PERFORMANTE: UMA NOVA REFERÊNCIA ENTRE OS SUPER SUV

Urus Performante is performed at Pebble Beach

The manufacturer from Sant’Agata Bolognese has just unveiled in Pebble Beach its new high-performance SUV, the Lamborghini Urus Performante, which stands as the top of the model line. Basically, it bets on more power, less weight, more advanced aerodynamics and more sporty tuning.

Before its official presentation, as we already knew, this Urus Performante faced the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, where it managed to crown itself as the fastest SUV, with a time of 10:32.064, thus surpassing the Bentley Bentayga, which in 2018 set a time on the climb of 10:49.902.

The aesthetic evolution of this Performante is evident in the bumpers and hood, which are more prominent and tapered. The brand ensures that it uses more carbon fiber components than any other competitor in the segment, such as the hood itself, made of forged carbon and painted in the body color (partially in exposed fiber as an option).

In addition, it debuts more generous air intakes at the front and also an 'air curtain' in the front bumper, which improves aerodynamics, and an Aventador SVJ-inspired rear spoiler that increases the rear aerodynamic load by around 38% compared to the conventional Urus. The rear bumper, the diffuser and, as an option, the roof are also made of carbon.

The Performante is 2.5 cm longer, has 1.6 cm wide gauges and is 2.0 cm lower in height. The lightweight forged wheels are 22 inches in diameter, with titanium screws and model-specific development Pirelli Trofeo R tires, although 23-inch wheels are also optional.

In the cabin there is a Nero Cosmus upholstery with Alcantara in black tone (there is optional leather), in a hexagonal design pattern for the seams. The decorative moldings are Performante-specific, although customization is also offered by experts in Lamborghini's Ad Personam division, so the customer can design everything to their liking.

Under the hood of the Urus Performante we find the same 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine as the regular Urus, although in this case with an additional 16 hp, as it reaches 666 hp, in addition to 850 Nm of torque between 2,300 and 4,500 rpm. The lightweight titanium exhaust system, signed by the Slovenians of Akrapovic, is standard, and its sound varies depending on the chosen driving mode.

Thanks to this improvement, and also to a weight reduction of 47 kilograms (achieving a power-to-weight ratio of 3.2 kg/hp), the Performante announces an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 306 km/h. It also promises a braking from 100 km/h to 0 in 32.9 meters.

In terms of chassis, the brand has recalibrated the steering, also increasing the speed of intervention of the directional rear axle, which contributes to greater binding, together with a renewed differential with vector distribution of torque. In terms of driving modes, the well-known Strada, Sport and Corsa are added to a room called Rally and designed for driving on dirt tracks.

Deliveries of the new Lamborghini Urus Performante will start at the end of the same year 2022, with a pre-tax price in Europe of 218,487 euros
