AUDI

APARECE À VENDA UM RARO AUDI RS 2 AVANT COM VOLANTE À DIREITA

Absolute rarity: rare ''English-style'' Audi RS 2 Avant 95 goes up for auction

Today, Audi has an incredible line of sports sedans and station wagons, such as the RS 4 and RS 6 in their Sedan and Avant versions. But we can say that the father of them all was the Audi RS 2 Avant, a project developed together with Porsche in the mid-90s and that left one of the most spectacular and special models of the four-rim brand. Now, one of the few units that were manufactured with a right-hand drive for the British market will be auctioned.

Fewer than 3,000 of the Audi RS 2 were made, so it's a hard part to find these days. Even more so since it is one of the 180 that arrived in the UK, with a right-hand drive, which makes it a very rare and coveted example. In addition, the specimen shown in the images has only traveled 53,000 kilometers. Now, it is pending a review, as it has been idle for a long time. The seller, Silverstone Auctions, guarantees that it will provide invoices and documentation for all work carried out.

This RS 2 manufactured in Zuffenhausen in 1995 equips the 5-cylinder, 2.2-liter engine with a KKK turbo and 20 valves, which delivers 315 hp and 410 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission that sends torque to all four wheels via a manual locking differential on the rear axle. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 262 km/h.

The bodywork is finished in the characteristic 'Nogaro Blue' color and the interior is covered with upholstery that mixes leather and Alcantara, both in black. It has had only two owners since then and has always been very well taken care of. A unit like this, right-hand drive, well maintained and with low mileage, is a very desirable combination for any model enthusiast. The car will be auctioned on the 27th of August and the auction price is estimated to be between £70,000 and £80,000.
