NISSAN CELEBRA O E-DAY COM A CHEGADA DO LEAF 2023 AO BRASIL

LEAF 2023: the brand's electric mobility icon arrives in Brazil

On July 18, 2019, Nissan launched in Brazil the global icon of electric mobility, the LEAF, and to mark this date, it started to celebrate E-Day, the Intelligent Mobility Day. Since then, the Japanese brand has been celebrating this milestone, and now in 2022, the day gets even more special with the arrival of a novelty: the Nissan LEAF 2023.

The model begins to be distributed this week to the 44 Nissan dealerships approved to sell and perform after-sales services on electric vehicles.

The best-selling 100% electric car in the Brazilian market last year, the Nissan LEAF now arrives in the country in the 2023 model and with several new features. On its way as a key vehicle in global electrification, the 2023 Nissan LEAF features a refreshed exterior and new equipment. And with another attraction: all for the same price as the previous line: 293,790 reais. A more than special gift on the third anniversary of E-Day.

The 2023 line is already distinguished by its frontal appearance, which includes new grille format and front bumper. The style of the headlights has also been revised and now has a black interior finish (previously it was chrome). The 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels bring new design, bold and aggressive. The model also debuts the new Nissan logo, positioned on the front grille, on the trunk lid, in the center of the wheels and on the steering wheel.

Front and rear wind deflectors are now black (previously blue). The shapes of these parts positioned in the four corners of the wheel arches, in the rear diffuser and in the rear spoiler were also modified. All of these enhancements have given the 2023 Nissan LEAF a distinctive look and feel, with an even sleeker, aerodynamic and sporty profile.

To increase comfort and safety, the Nissan LEAF also gained a Bose audio system, a premium car sound brand, consisting of two 1-inch tweeters, two 6.5-inch long-range speakers in the front doors, two other loudspeakers. 5.25-inch long-throw speakers in the rear doors, an amplifier and a 4.5-inch woofer, both in the trunk area.

Another novelty is the intelligent interior mirror, a technology that makes the images of the rear of the vehicle be reproduced in the interior mirror (LCD screen) clearly, without blind spots or interference from the rear seat headrests, for example. The camera installed at the rear of the Nissan LEAF projects images in the rear view mirror clearly, even if the weather and light conditions are not favorable.

The charging system located on the front of the vehicle is also new. In addition to the ChadeMo, for fast charging, the Nissan LEAF now comes with a type 2 input, the European standard, with seven pins, most common at charging points in Brazil.

The 2023 Nissan LEAF also gains new color options, in addition to Diamond White with Black Roof and Premium Black. Also available: Shark Gray with Black Roof and Magnetic Red with Black Roof.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility...With nearly 600,000 units sold worldwide, the Nissan LEAF combines an efficient electric driving experience with comprehensive driving assistance and connectivity technologies, which are the result of more than 10 years of knowledge and innovation in Nissan electric vehicles.

Among the highlights of Nissan LEAF's smart driving technologies is the e-Pedal. This innovation allows the driver to simplify movements when accelerating, decelerating and stopping the car, as he can only use the accelerator pedal for all these actions - something revolutionary and that represents a new way of driving.

The operation is extremely simple: releasing the accelerator pedal, the car will stop gradually and smoothly, without the need to press the brake pedal. This technology eliminates the need for drivers to constantly move their foot from the accelerator to the brake pedal to reduce speed or bring the vehicle to a complete stop.

In addition to the e-Pedal, the Nissan LEAF is equipped with a suite of advanced safety technologies that form the Nissan Intelligent Safety Shield. This intelligent safety shield integrates systems such as: Intelligent Lane Departure Alert, Intelligent Lane Departure Prevention System, Intelligent Emergency Brake Assist, Intelligent Speed Control, Blind Spot Warning System, Intelligent 360° Vision with Detector Alert, Intelligent Driver Attention Alert, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Added to items such as six airbags, stability and traction controls, ABS brakes with power distribution, Isofix child seat system and a reinforced body (which led the model to earn 5 stars in the EuroNcap), the Nissan Intelligent Safety Shield helps the car and the driver to monitor the movement around him, respond to unexpected actions and protect himself.

The systems identify if the car is leaving the lane without being noticed, if there are people or objects behind the vehicle during a maneuver, vehicles in blind spots in the rearview mirror; signs of driver fatigue, among other preventive actions. Driving is also safer with the intelligent automatic speed controller, which monitors the distance from the car in front (which can be set on the dashboard) and brakes the Nissan LEAF if necessary, constantly checks the tire pressure, plus, of course, the visualization of the entire surroundings of the vehicle with the use of the four cameras that form the 360º Vision on the multimedia system screen.

Nissan Intelligent Power: clean and efficient driving...The star of this pillar is, without a doubt, the e-powertrain. The 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivers linear and exhilarating performance by delivering 150 hp (110 kW) equivalent power and 320 Nm of torque, resulting in vigorous acceleration. It's more performance with zero emissions.

The lithium-ion battery has a range of 272 km in Inmetro, satisfying the driving needs of most owners.

On a day-to-day basis, the driver perceives the immediate torque available, which offers instantaneous responses at traffic lights, for example, or even when resuming for safer overtaking. The electric motor, combined with Nissan's technology, delivers maximum torque in 0.1 second. Furthermore, the Nissan LEAF is surprisingly quiet.

The driver also has the possibility to choose between three driving modes:

- ECO, which helps to limit engine performance and save energy;

- 'B' (Brake), which uses more powerful regenerative braking, to more efficiently recharge the battery, but without compromising the vehicle's power;

- ‘D’ (Drive), the normal operating mode at full engine power.

The 2023 Nissan LEAF is also equipped with traction and stability controls; starting system on ramps; dynamic chassis control, which brings together intelligent brake and cornering controls and body stabilizer; electric windows; steering wheel with synthetic coating and sound controls, on-board computer; split rear seat backrest (60/40); glove compartment with lighting; LED daytime running lights (DLR); automatic air conditioning; A-IVI multimedia with color touch screen, among many others.

Programmable, energy-saving amenities...Nissan LEAF has features that let you choose the time to recharge the battery and program the vehicle's early climate. These are smart and easy-to-use features, as they work like setting an alarm to remind you of an appointment or to wake up.

The charging timer is programmed on the vehicle's instrument panel and causes charging to start automatically at the programmed times. The resource stays in memory until an eventual change, not needing to be activated always. Simply indicate the start and end times of the recharge, which can be applied to each day of the week. It is possible to set two automatic times per day.

When arriving at the place where the vehicle will be recharged, just connect the cable. When the predetermined time arrives, charging starts automatically. Thus, you can choose a time with a lower electricity tariff.

Early climate control is a feature that helps to save battery power. With it, it is possible to program the climate to heat or cool the interior of the Nissan LEAF before the owner enters the vehicle. To do this, just leave the cable connected to the mains, so the model will use the energy that comes from the mains, and not from the battery, to leave the interior at the desired temperature. If the previous programming indicates a temperature of 20º C at 8 am, before leaving the house, the system will turn on the air conditioning a little earlier.

The climate control timer allows setting two times. When the climate control timer is set, the air conditioner will operate according to the set time. Just like the charging timer, it is not necessary to set the climate control every day.
