Absolute rarity: M3 E30 Convertible 93 in almost 0km condition was recently auctioned
The BMW M3 E30 remains one of the most collectible classics among enthusiasts. Their prices continue to rise and, as the years go by, copies in good condition begin to become scarce. On this occasion, a really interesting specimen appears, both for its condition and for its uniqueness. This rare 1993 BMW M3 E30 Convertible has just been auctioned off in impeccable condition.
We say rare because the M3 E30, in general, is usually found with the famous two-door coupe body. However, this unit is a Cabrio, specifically one of the 786 examples produced and one of the 476 with a catalyzed engine. Bearing in mind that BMW has made over 17,000 units of the M3 E30, so finding a convertible is truly a special find.
Finished in a Diamantschwarz (Diamond Black) metallic paintwork with a black hood and original 16-inch alloy wheels, this 1993 BMW M3 E30 Convertible also features an interior upholstered in black leather with M tricolor accents on the corners of the seatbacks. . There's also an M three-spoke steering wheel, power windows and an on-board computer.
The advertisement also specifies that, although it was licensed in the year 1997 in the UK, when it was imported, the car was manufactured in June 1990 and was registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in 1993. We can also note that , despite being registered in British lands, it has a left-hand drive and the speedometer is in km/h. In the last 32 years, this M3 E30 convertible has covered a total of 99,422 kilometers. It has no damage to the bodywork or the interior, in general good condition.
On a mechanical level, it presents one of the singularities that make it special. We mentioned earlier that it is one of 476 equipped with a catalytic converter, so the 2.3-liter inline 4-cylinder S14 engine develops 215 horsepower. The block is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission that sends all the power to the rear axle.
The car was auctioned through Collecting Cars. The price reached the value of 73,000 pounds sterling, around 467,000 reais at today's exchange rate.
