TOYOTA APRESENTA O NOVO bZ4X EM SUA VERSÃO PARA A EUROPA

bZ4X: Japanese crossover arrives in Europe fully electrified

Toyota presents its new bZ4X in Europe, a 100% electric SUV that hits the market to be the benchmark among electric crossovers.

The bZ4X, the first battery electric vehicle - Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) - developed by Toyota, marks the launch of the bZ - Beyond Zero - family of 100% electric and zero-emission models. Toyota's new bZ4X brings the all-terrain capability of an authentic 4x4 to the electric car market for the first time. Its launch will accelerate Toyota's advance across multiple technologies towards its goal of carbon neutrality.

The quality and performance of the bZ4X is based on Toyota's expertise in electrified vehicle technology, which is world-leading thanks to a track record of more than a quarter of a century. Toyota collaborated with Subaru as a development partner for the bZ4X, benefiting from its recognized expertise in fields such as all-wheel drive systems.

The new bZ4X, the sixth model in Toyota's SUV lineup, which already includes the Aygo X Cross, Yaris Cross Electric Hybrid, RAV4 Electric Hybrid, RAV4 Plug-in and Highlander Electric Hybrid, is not an adaptation of any existing model, but was developed from scratch. It is the first member of a series of bZ models that will be developed based on a new platform specifically for electric vehicles.

Thus, the new eTNGA platform integrates the battery into the chassis, so that it is completely under the floor of the vehicle. The result is a firm and very rigid chassis and a low center of gravity, factors that define the stability and dynamism of the bZ4X. Thanks to the modular design, the eTNGA can be easily adapted for use in a wide range of models, from more compact to larger segments.

The bZ4X is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive versions. The front-wheel drive model has a 150 kW eAxle electric axle that develops 204 hp and a maximum torque of 266 Nm. The all-wheel drive model has an eAxle of 80 kW on each axle, with a combined power of 218 hp and a torque of 337 Nm. Class-leading all-terrain performance is based on the X-MODE all-wheel drive system, which offers complete safety and stability on slippery surfaces such as mud or snow.

The lithium-ion battery that powers the motor or electric motors has a capacity of 71.4 kWh and has 96 cells, which are liquid cooled and monitored separately for signs of anomalies or deterioration.

To demonstrate its confidence in the battery's quality, reliability and durability, Toyota warrants that it will maintain at least 70% of its capacity for up to 8 years or 160,000 kilometers with the original electric vehicle manufacture warranty, and up to 10 years or 1 million kilometers thanks to the guarantee linked to the Electric Vehicle Health Check (EVHC) - which is activated with the Toyota Relax program - an annual review that extends the official warranty year by year up to 10 years.

The bZ4X homologates a range, in WLTP combined cycle, of up to 516 km for the front-wheel drive version and up to 470 km for the all-wheel drive version. Fast charging the battery in direct current (DC) at 150 kW allows up to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes under normal temperature conditions.

Toyota's new 100% electric SUV incorporates the latest version (3rd generation) of Toyota Assist, the set of safety systems and driving assistance that allow you to avoid an accident or mitigate its consequences. Among the improvements are a higher resolution camera, greater amplitude and twice the range, a radar with a more powerful sensor and a newly developed driver attention detection system.
