Brand announced automotive AV receivers compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technologies
Sony Electronics Corporation announced the XAV-AX6000 and XAV-AX4000 Automotive AV Receivers that support wireless pairing with a smartphone.
Both new items are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technologies. The connection with the cellular device is carried out via Wi-Fi. Once connected to a smartphone, drivers can use voice commands to navigate, play music and make phone calls. At the same time, the cell phone itself cannot even be taken out of your pocket.
The XAV-AX6000(image above) is equipped with a 6.95-inch borderless display. A touch control system based on capacitive technology was implemented. HDMI interface provided.
The XAV-AX4000(image below) version also received a 6.95 diagonal touchscreen. An anti-reflective coating was applied.
The receivers are equipped with a Bluetooth wireless controller. Support for Sony LDAC codec is mentioned: this is a signal encoding technology for transmitting high resolution audio (in this case 24-bit / 96 kHz). Also, it is possible to play FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) audio files losslessly.
Among other things, physical control buttons, a 14-band equalizer, the ability to connect a rear-view camera and a USB Type-C port are mentioned.
The XAV-AX6000 and XAV-AX4000 receivers will cost $700 and $600, respectively.
