Volkswagen lançará Touareg Edition 20 para o 20º aniversário

Volkswagen celebrates the 20th anniversary of the debut of the first generation Touareg with the launch of a new special edition of the third generation model, dubbed Edition 20. The anniversary special comes with exclusive finishes and a long list of standard equipment, exactly ten years after the release of the Touareg Edition X.

The VW Touareg Edition 20 is visually distinguished by the new Meloe Blue paintwork, which is uniquely matched with a set of 20-inch Bogotá wheels in gloss black. The same treatment has been used on the wheel arches and diffuser, matching the black exterior finish with the R badge. The new special edition Touareg also gets tinted windows, cherry red LED taillights and "Edition 20" badges.

Inside, the Edition 20 logo appears on the illuminated door sills and automatic gearshift lever. The seats are upholstered in black Savona leather with diamond stitching and light beige piping. The instrument panel received Ceramique and Red edges, in harmony with red accents throughout the cabin. The Innovision Cockpit with its huge 15-inch infotainment touchscreen comes standard with the ADAS assistance system, which allows for semi-autonomous driving.

The Edition 20 is available with four different powertrains - two diesels, one petrol and one plug-in hybrid. As for the diesel engine, we have the 3.0-liter V6 TDI. The petrol option is a 3.0-liter V6 TSI with 335 hp. and 450 Nm. Finally, the V6 TSI plug-in hybrid produces 375 hp. and 600 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via 8 automatic transmissions. The most powerful plug-in hybrid, the Touareg R, isn't part of the "Edition 20" lineup because it's cool enough on its own.

The VW Touareg Edition 20 is now available to order, starting at €77,530 in Germany for the entry-level V6 TDI. In the last two decades, Volkswagen has sold more than one million Touaregs. VW's flagship SUV shares its platform with the Audi Q7/Q8, Porsche Cayenne/Cayenne Coupe, Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus, although their character and market positioning are very different from each other.
