Brand launches electrified truck that uses modular platform that can be converted in 60 seconds
California-based Tropos Motors introduced the ABLE NXT electric truck, featuring compact dimensions and a modular platform design that converts in 60 seconds.
Tropos Motors clarified that the parts for the ABLE NXT are made in Europe by the German company Sevic Systems, and the assembly is being carried out in the US only. The model is equipped with batteries of different capacities and various charging modules. The maximum battery capacity reaches 33 kWh – it offers a range of 304 km and a full charge takes 2 to 14 hours.
The machine is equipped with a 20 horsepower engine that develops a torque of 130 Nm. This is enough to accelerate up to 88 km/h and carry loads weighing up to 680 kg on paved roads. The most important advantage of the ABLE NXT is the modular Easy Swap system, which allows you to quickly replace the back of the machine
Among the plug-in modules: Pickup – a classic open platform; Trades in supporting structures like a wooden rack and belt mounts; as well as Cargo – a cargo compartment with sealed rear and side doors. The manufacturer claims that replacing the module takes 60 seconds, all it takes is a forklift and simple hand tools.
The ABLE NXT is also equipped with an in-dash color display, a rear-view camera, an infotainment system with navigation and smartphone connectivity, as well as heating and air conditioning systems. The estimated cost of the car is US$ 30,000, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of the year.
