TOYOTA 4RUNNER 40TH ANNIVERSARY: CELEBRANDO O 40º ANIVERSÁRIO DO MODELO

4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition

Born in 1983, the Toyota 4Runner is a true veteran in certain markets around the globe, but contrary to what it might seem, its sales have not declined, and in fact in 2021 the demand for this Japanese SUV increased by 12.1%, with 144,696 units sold.

This fifth generation of the model, on sale since 2009, continues to perform well on a commercial level, so Toyota has no intention of releasing a new delivery, at least for next year, but wanted to launch a special limited edition.

This Toyota 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition was created to precisely celebrate the 40th

anniversary of the model, which will be celebrated in the next year 2023.

Basically, it's a retro-looking edition that displays an 'old school' decor, in this case in Midnight black and with a colorful stripe in yellow, orange and red tones, reminiscent of the 1980s.

Toyota will also offer this edition with bodywork in Barcelona red and white, in all cases with a retro-style grille in the same color as the vehicle and with a large ‘Toyota’ lettering and bronze ‘40th Anniversary’ badges on the tailgate.

Another detail in the bronze color are the 17-inch-diameter alloy wheels in a slightly retro design, while in the cabin we also find the same tone on the seats and the gearshift lever, for example.

And speaking of the interior, the headrests are also adorned with anniversary logos and even the rugs are exclusive to the version. In addition, standard equipment includes an electric sunroof, LED headlights and various assistants within the so-called Toyota Safety Sense. The manufacturer has not announced which engine this 40th Anniversary Edition will be available with, but we know that it will offer 2WD and 4WD versions, up to seven seats and that its production will be limited to 4,040 copies.
