TATA MOTORS
TATA Nexon EV will have increased range (400 km)
TATA continues to invest a lot of money each year in the development of electric vehicles, being one of the most popular Indian brands in the segment despite the tough competition it faces from MG and Hyundai in its domestic market. The Nexon EV will soon receive changes that will make it an excellent choice.
As announced by TATA, in a matter of a few weeks the Nexon will receive an upgrade that, among other things, will include a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 40 kWh, a figure that will allow it to declare 400 km of autonomy according to the local Indian homologation cycle.
The current TATA Nexon EV has a battery with a capacity of 30.2 kWh with which it announces 312 km of autonomy, although it is already known that the official figures end up being very optimistic. If the basic option manages in the real world around 200-220 km, the new alternative should be around 300 km.
Along with the larger capacity battery, there will also be an on-board charger with 6.6 kW of power that will reduce charging times, especially at free points. The version with a small battery will continue to be limited to the charger with only 3.3 kW of power.
To somehow justify the higher price of the 'long-range' version, the TATA Nexon will be able to equip new elements, such as gradual regenerative braking, ventilated front seats, air cleaner, cruise control and stability control.
