SP48 Unica: the new one-off from the house of Maranell
Ferrari SP48 Unica: this is the name of the new one-off from the house of Maranello, created by the team led by Flavio Manzoni and the last representative of what customers can get from the Special Projects program of the Italian brand, created to give shape to the desires of who does not conform to 'any' Ferrari.
Based on the F8 Tributo, from which it takes the platform and the 3.9 V8 biturbo engine (720 hp in the F8), this unique example is a two-seater coupe with an aesthetic that differs considerably from the original model, which makes it truly special. Let's see how.
What immediately characterizes the Ferrari SP48 Unica is the much sharper lines compared to those of the F8 Tributo, with a completely redesigned front end that, in some ways, resembles that of the Roma.
The nose quickly descends to the bumper, which is closed in the centre, while the air inlets on the sides create a very sophisticated three-dimensional design. The design of the headlights is also profoundly different, with a horizontal shape like those of the SF90 Stradale.
The ceiling 'visor' effect is also very unusual. It was created through black front pillars and side windows that narrow towards the rear.
The sides of the car have also been significantly modified and are very angular, with redesigned air intakes situated just behind the side windows.
At the rear there is no porthole glass, which is covered by a central module that reaches from the roof to the tail, integrating perfectly with the small airfoil. The defense is also completely new, with ultra-thin taillights joined by a shiny black line, a double exhaust and an oversized diffuser.
The cabin of the Ferrari SP48 Unica does not appear in the official photos. But we know that it does not differ especially from the interior of the F8 Tributo, at least in terms of the layout of the elements.
Most seats and panels are covered with laser-perforated black Alcantara. This configuration reveals the iridescent fabric that goes from red to orange, echoing the effect of the bodywork. In short, a spectacular one-off, for which the owner must have paid an incredible sum of money.
