Cadillac officially unveils new 682 horsepower Escalade-V luxury SUV

There’s an old saying that goes “with enough thrust, even a brick can fly.”

And it seems like Cadillac is applying that maxim to its luxury SUV.

While we've known that a first-ever V-Series Escalade was being developed for a few months now, we didn't have many details on its drivetrain or performance capabilities.

Until today of course, the wraps have officially come off the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V.

Powered by the same hand-built 6.2L supercharged LT Series V8 we got in the CT5-V Blackwing, the new Escalade-V puts down 682 horsepower and 653 lb.-ft. of torque. According to Cadillac, that's enough power to hustle the hefty SUV from zero to sixty in under 4.4 seconds.

Cadillac's nomenclature, the "V" denotes the company's high-performance finish (pictured above)

It’s also enough oomph to formally call the Escalade-V the most powerful full size SUV in the industry.

The 6.2L is coupled to a 10-speed automatic. And the party’s not contained entirely under the hood either, as the Escalade-V also gets an electronic limited-slip differential, along with magnetic ride control and an air ride adaptive suspension.

Cadillac says the new Escalade-V should be rumbling into showrooms by the end of the year—so start raiding your couch cushions for pennies now, because the 2023 Escalade-V starts around $150K.
