FÓRMULA-1
The long-standing partnership between Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen and Formula 1 team Mercedes-AMG Petronas, which dates back to 2013, is bearing new fruit. As a result of this alliance, a watch was created for the racing team, which was given the rather long name IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 Edition "Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team". This watch will be worn by team members including designers, aerodynamicists, racing engineers, strategists and mechanics.
More importantly, you can buy this watch for yourself even if you are not part of an F1 championship team.
The official Mercedes F1 Team watch is made from lightweight and durable Grade 5 titanium, which provides the highest strength/density ratio of any metal. It is known that this metal is used in the production of automotive parts, which are subjected to enormous loads.
Watches with a diameter of 41 mm have a titanium case with a grayish tinge after machining and sandblasting. The black dial is embossed and luminescent in the team's signature green tone. Behind the sapphire crystal, you can see the chronograph movement caliber 69385 with a classic column wheel design made up of 231 individual parts. The power reserve is up to 46 hours.
Two straps are available for the Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 Edition Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team: an embossed black calfskin strap and a green rubber strap. Thanks to the proprietary EasX-CHANGE system, they can be easily changed at the touch of a button without additional tools.
Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 Edition Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team is priced at $7,850
