Tesla Model 3 Performance and Lamborghini Urus: both accelerate from 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds
At the moment, Tesla electric cars are known not only as luxury electric cars, but also as unbeatable racing cars. Even the humble Model 3 has what it takes to beat the mighty ICE cars, but can the entry-level Tesla Model 3 beat the Lamborghini Urus in straight-line races? That's what the carwow team wants to find out.
However, the Tesla Model 3 featured here is not a simple version of an American electric car.
It's a Model 3 Performance, which means it has two electric motors driving each axle without any gearbox. According to the specifications, the combined power of the two engines is 490 horsepower (365 kW) and the maximum instantaneous torque is 660 Nm.
Lamborghini Urus has a big advantage. The 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine develops 641 hp. (850 Nm), also transmitted to all four wheels. Tesla's advantage over the super SUV in the video was in weight. The Model 3 was lighter than the Urus by around 347kg, which should make up for the Lamborghini's power advantage.
Another point of comparison was his starts. The Model 3 started the race perfectly almost every time, while the Urus, as already mentioned, was a success despite the four-wheel drive. In terms of acceleration, here the two rivals were on the same level. Both can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.
Not long ago, our publication wrote that witnesses noticed the new Ferrari SF90 Stradale at the Lamborghini factory. Car enthusiasts watched Ferrari go in and out of the Lamborghini factory in Sant'Agata. Youtuber Varryx captured it on video.
