911 SPEEDSTER EXCLUSIVE MANUFAKTUR

This is the story of a unique 911 Speedster, born out of a Porsche customer's passion for the color green.

Color has always been a distinctive element of the Porsche experience. From the first air-cooled 356 to the latest all-electric Taycan, a bold and varied color palette allowed the brand's designers and customers to express their individuality. And this is evident in the 911 Speedster shown in the images, a unique car inspired by the Porsche family itself, which has gone from a dream to a reality thanks to the team of specialists working in the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur division.

Green has a lot to do with the origins of the brand and with the first 911. Ferry Porsche always made sure that its cars at the company were painted in this color, in one of its many variants (Oak Green Metallic, Olive Green, Emerald Green Metallic or Brewster green, among others). It is a tradition that has continued with Dr. Wolfgang Porsche to this day, with several models from his private collection finished in the same greens that his father chose more than half a century ago.

In fact, this collection was the inspiration to create the 911 Speedster so special that it is the protagonist of this article. On a visit to the Porsche Museum, the owner was able to see the amazing 993 Turbo S that Dr. Porsche still enjoys driving along the alpine road in Grossglockner, Austria. It was love at first sight and the beginning of an obsession with this unusual yet subtle paint tone, which responds to code 22B Brewstergreen. “I'm not a big fan of metallic colors, but this one immediately captivated me because it's very discreet”, he explains. “In certain environments it looks black, but when you see it with good light, it brings out the green”.

In addition to the generous standard offer, optional liveries like this one allow customers to express their own personality even more. With over a hundred additional colors, the 911's individualized palette offers a very wide range of possibilities.

Having the opportunity to own a Speedster is something very special. While traveling to Germany, the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur department informed the owner that he could customize his car beyond the usual. “As soon as I read the email, I knew I was going to choose Brewster green for the outdoors,” he recalls.

“It was time to combine all my favorite greens and the Speedster was the perfect car for that. Choosing Brewster green was easy after seeing what it looked like on the body of a 991.2 Turbo S. The green Noto leather interior was also clear from the start, after seeing its effect on a 911 GT3 Touring, but we wanted to go a step further than and that's why we decided to use this upholstery on the seats, the ventilation vents, the steering wheel, the door panels, the sunshades, the edges of the carpets, the decorative moldings and even the fuse box”. The wheels, for their part, were painted in the color of the body and were finished off with a silver line that runs around the entire circumference.

“From the moment of placing the paint samples and the leather to see their interaction, to the creation of the graphic representations, the experience was unparalleled”, he comments. “There were many details that really made this trip something very special. I was able to see the car before it left the Zuffenhausen plant and meet some of the people who had worked on it. His joy was contagious.”

The end result is the materialization of a man's passion, but also a reflection of the dedication and care for detail of the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur team, which involves the customer in every phase of the project. “It was an honor, a pleasure and a privilege to make my dream come true”, says the owner. “I am very satisfied with the result and, as you can see from the mileage and the wear and tear on the leather, I love to go out and drive the car. It's a combination that may not please everyone, but for me it represents perfection.”
