New Series 7 inaugurates a new phase in every way for the brand

BMW today introduced the new generation of the 7 Series, which for the first time is also offered as purely electric, under the name i7. The German sedan adopts BMW's new design philosophy that we saw in the revamped X7, with dual headlights and a large grille.

The length of the new 7 Series is 5,391 meters, width is 1.95 meters, height is 1,544 meters and wheelbase is 3,215 meters. It is equipped with active air suspension that varies ground clearance and has active steering system and four-way system.

Inside we find two screens, a 12.3 ″ that works as the instrument panel and a 14.9 ″ for the infotainment system running the iDrive 8 software, with the rear passengers in front of a 31-inch screen, 3 ″ 8K Theater 32: 9 -additional equipment-, which is controlled by the two 5.5'' touchscreens integrated into the door panels. The car can be equipped with a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system with 36 speakers.

The BMW 735i (not available in Europe) uses the 3,000 cc six-cylinder, 286 hp light hybrid gasoline engine with 400 Nm of torque, the 740i (not available in Europe) uses the same 380 hp engine with 540 Nm of torque. torque, 760i xDrive (not available in Europe) powered by the 544 horsepower 4.4-liter V8 hybrid engine with 750 Nm of torque.

The i7 xDrive60 is powered by two electric motors of 544 hp and 745 Nm of torque, with a range of up to 625 km per charge, with a battery capacity of 101.8 kW. It supports fast charging up to 195 kW and with its use it acquires a range of 170 km with 10 minutes of charging.

The 740d xDrive (available from Spring 2023) uses the 300hp 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine with 670Nm of torque, while the 750e xDrive (available from Spring 2023) is the plug-in hybrid engine that combines a 3.0-liter six-cylinder 310 horsepower gasoline engine and a 200 horsepower electric motor, delivering a combined power of 490 horsepower with 700 Nm of torque.

The BMW M760e xDrive (available from spring 2023) combines a 3.0-litre 380hp six-cylinder petrol engine with a 200hp electric motor, delivering a total of 571 horsepower with 800Nm of torque. It is offered mechanically with petrol, diesel and electric engines, while plug-in hybrid versions will be available from early 2023.

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive will have two electric motors, one per axle, which will deliver over 600 horsepower with over 1,000 Nm of torque. And this will be offered from 2023 and the 0-100 km/h will be done in less than 4 seconds.
