YAMAHA
Since its launch on the Yamaha Ténéré 700 trail, it has become one of the best-selling models in the segment thanks, above all, to its impressive dakariana and adventurous image, as well as its performance, especially in off-road use.
But for the use of a long-distance raid on the Ténéré 700, it was not the most advanced in sections such as autonomy, comfort, instrumentation, aerodynamic protection, connectivity with the mobile...
Therefore, to captivate users who take long distance routes and many journeys, Yamaha proposes the new World Raid version, the third in the saga next to the Ténéré 700 and the Ténéré 700 Rally Edition. According to the brand the new model is on the market as "the ultimate long-distance adventure motorcycle designed to open up a whole world of possibilities to anyone with an adventurous spirit".
TANKS...For long-distance adventures, the autonomy is increased by mounting the 23 liter fuel tank instead of the single previous 700 liter tank (16 liters). So, fuel is available to reach about 500 km, without reposting, always depending on the use of driving, the terrain.. and the consumption of the motorcycle.
As in the motorcycles of the Dakar, these are independent tanks, each with its filler mouth, placed on each side of the front part of the motorcycle, and without any connection between them. In such a way that if one of them was damaged by a blow, and gasoline was lost, the other's fuel would run out and we could continue the adventure by reposting in that "sane" tank.
An important feature of this new design is that the highest point of the new deposits is lower than the upper part of the deposit in the Ténéré 700. This reduces the height difference between the deposit and the seat, so that the profile It's more flat and improves the rider's mobility and the front/rear weight shift over all off-road driving. Another advantage of this double tank design is that the fluctuation of the fuel varies very little, in comparison with the design of a single large tank, which is especially appreciated when taking turns.
FLAT SEAT...In addition to reducing the height of the new double fuel tank, the Ténéré 700 World Raid incorporates a new seat measuring 890 mm in height with a much flatter profile so that the height difference between the seat is not noticeable. and the deposits. This design allows the pilot to move forward and backward with less effort to change body weight to maintain control on compromised terrain. In addition, the new ergonomics is perfect for both sitting and walking.
5" TFT PANEL...The Ténéré has a monochromatic LCD screen in black. La World Raid clearly improves this section with a 5" color TFT instrumentation that also allows connectivity with the mobile phone with the MyRide application. , text message notifications and incoming calls are received that are shown on the instrument panel.
On the other hand, modes 2 and 3 are designed for driving on other types of highways. Specifically, mode 2 (new function developed for the Ténéré 700 World Raid) activates ABS on the front wheel and deactivates it on the back. This mode is recommended for terrains such as tracks with gravel where it is probable that there is little grip. Mode 3 deactivates the ABS on both wheels. It is the suitable mode for experienced riders who want to enjoy pure off-road driving. La Ténéré 700 has the option of connected or disconnected.
43 MM KYB HORQUILLA...The new KYB horquilla with 43 mm bars has a 230 mm wheel path, 20 more than the Ténéré 700, absorbs better impacts on uneven terrain. The new horquilla is regulated in the preload of the muelle, extension and compression.
ÖHLINS STEERING DAMPER...To have a greater ability to control off-road driving, an Öhlins steering damper is included as standard. It is mounted close to the upper steering panels so that the pilot can quickly adjust it in one of the 18 available clicks, setting it according to his preferences and the terrain for which he moves.
SHOCK ABSORBER WITH MORE RECURRIDO...The rear suspension features a new scheme of connecting rods that work on a cushion with separate deposit. The damping characteristics of the rear suspension system, the elasticity and the tipper proportions have been optimized so that it is more comfortable to drive on a highway at a time that allows you to withstand strong impacts while driving off-road.
As with the horquilla, the new shock absorber has 20 mm more road travel and can be completely adjusted for muelle preload, as well as for compression and extension.
