TUNNING
The work of the engineers of an Australian workshop, um Powertune, is praised by the Toyota GR Yaris, which has shifted to the level of um supercars. In the first round, the 1.6-liter, 261-horsepower, 3-cylinder block was not disturbed, only the valve springs were replaced with stronger ones. This was followed by an update of the engine control; with the MoTeC M1 ECU, 390 horsepower has already been measured on the dynamometer. In the next development phase, a larger turbo (Garrett G25-550) was fitted, bringing an additional 45 horsepower to the kitchen. Here, however, they got stuck because of the inability to further enhance performance with the factory fuel pump. After some research, this hurdle was removed, and by the end of November, they were able to increase the engine power by an additional 10%.
On the dynamometer because 352.6 kW, or 473 horsepower, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS (480 hp), the Mercedes-AMG GT (the previous, no longer produced in its original version 476 hp), raised the BMW M4 Coupé (480 hp) to the level of an all-wheel drive GR Yaris, which at the same time weighs less than 1.3 tons with a ready-to-drive weight of less than 1.3 tons. In addition, this performance has continued to be achieved with the standard block, factory connecting rods, pistons, cylinder head gasket and camshafts, which means that there is still plenty of room to build the Toyota G16EGTS into the Toyota G16EGTS.
