GR Supra GT4 50 Edition: will have only 6 cars produced
When the Toyota Supra came out in 2019, it was clear that it would be a model that we would see a competition version of. Just a year later, the Japanese brand presented the Toyota GR Supra GT4, a model that now receives a very special edition. Baptized as the Toyota GR Supra GT4 50 Edition, only six copies of the model will be produced.
By the end of 2021, 50 copies of the Supra GT4 had been sold. Since its introduction, the competition model has participated in more than 250 races, achieving 36 victories in its class and 78 podiums. Toyota says it will continue development and production of the GR Supra GT4 while continuing to support owners in the future.
The Toyota GR Supra GT4 50 Edition adds a handful of specific features over the competition model. Each copy receives a red exterior with gold decoration. Inside, the driver has a new racing seat that comes with embroidered branding. Toyota also includes a passenger seat as standard equipment.
The car features the exclusive '50 Edition' branding on the interior, as well as a numbered plate affixed to the carbon fiber dashboard. Of course, there is no lack of an interior cover for transport and a safety cage. On the outside it is similar to the street version, although it receives a large rear spoiler and a prominent front splitter.
The side windows showcase the car's unique track ambitions. However, it's under the hood that really reveals that this isn't a conventional Supra. The GR Supra's 3.0-litre, in-line 6-cylinder, dual-inlet turbocharged engine has been tuned to develop 430 horsepower.
It comes coupled to a 7-speed automatic transmission, with paddles on the steering wheel. Nor is it lacking a mechanical limited-slip differential on the rear wheels. It also has an exhaust system signed by the Slovenians of Akrapovic. The price of the Toyota GR Supra GT4 50 Edition remains unchanged from the conventional racing model.
