Qualcomm and Ferrari announce partnership

Qualcomm and Ferrari today announced a strategic partnership to advance the technology of the Italian brand's vehicles. As part of the collaboration, Qualcomm will provide Ferrari with system solutions for future consumer vehicles. In addition, the chip maker will become a premium partner of the Formula 1 team Scuderia Ferrari and Ferrari eSports.

The collaboration will allow Ferrari to “incorporate the latest in digital automotive technology” into its on-road vehicles. The Snapdragon digital platform, which will be used in the Italian company's new cars, includes a digital cockpit, security tools and a series of other features that rely on scalable cloud platforms. As part of the agreement, Qualcomm and its partners will collaborate with Ferrari to design and develop digital cockpits for cars.

Qualcomm will act as a premium partner for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team from the start of the 2022 racing season. The Italian team's esports activities will also be an important part of the official cooperation.
