HONDA CB 1000R 2022: ATUALIZAÇÕES NO ESTILO, AJUSTES TÉCNICOS E CONECTIVIDADE

CB 1000R 2022: more powerful and technological

The Honda CB 1000R is a model that since its launch has become an object of desire for fans of the naked style. To the aggressive character, of pure Streetfighter, the CB 1000R added the originality of the Neo Sports Café concept, characterized by a minimalist design and full of personality. Motorcyclists desiring an essential aesthetic, where the superfluous has no place, were served not only by the unique style of the CB 1000R, but also by the high technology of the engine and chassis.

The innovative recipe of the CB 1000R resulted in an exciting model, with shapes that distinguished it in terms of elegance, but without renouncing full aggressiveness. The CB 1000R is capable of offering supersport motorcycle performance, but with the characteristic naked control, favored by the wide handlebars.

A champion on winding roads, in acceleration and completely attractive when parked, the CB 1000R is a motorcycle that stands out both in terms of dynamics and aesthetics. A reference model, in which Honda has applied all its capacity, and is undoubtedly the most coveted in its segment.

The changes introduced to the 2022 model aimed to further highlight its premium motorcycle character, allowing the CB 1000R a significant qualitative leap, both in terms of style and performance. The arrival of the exclusive CB 1000R Black Edition is, for all intents and purposes, the celebration of this success, a true icon of our time, ambitious and exclusive.

Model Overview...The 2022 CB1000R has more aggressive and advanced lines, with new details such as the silver aluminum subframe and radiator frames and air cleaner housing covers with a more dynamic design. The shape of the headlight has evolved and is now more inclined towards the rear, as well as the wheels, with an elaborate and attractive design.

The cycling part was not subject to changes; the engine, on the other hand, had the PGM-FI system reprogrammed, which resulted in better power delivery. The unprecedented color TFT instrument panel includes Honda RoadSync connectivity with the technology HSVCS - Honda Smartphone Voice Control System, which allows the driver to control smartphones and various applications installed on them through their voice. A USB-Type C port located under the passenger seat allows for smartphone charging.

Attractive and timeless, the CB 1000R won in this 2022 version an exclusive Black Edition version. The personalized look - a factory customization - guarantees the exclusivity of the version, which is characterized by the extensive use of black on practically all surfaces. In addition to the chromatic aspect, the CB 1000R Black Edition comes with exclusive accessories as standard.

With the exception of a few machined aluminum details - on the wheel spokes, suspension balance, engine covers and handlebar mounts with the 'CB' logo - everything on the CB 1000R Black Edition is black: the tapered headlight and its essential fairing, suspension front, radiator frames, air filter housing covers (anodized finish) and the entire exhaust system including the tailpipe. The tank and passenger seat cover, exclusive to the Black Edition, are in Graphite Black.

In the technical aspect, the Honda CB 1000R Black Edition differs from the standard version by having the quickshifter system, which allows faster gear changes by eliminating the need to activate the clutch lever.

Key features...The 'Neo Sports Café' concept has given a modern and minimalist interpretation to a wide range of motorcycle styles, whose inspiration comes from Café Racers that emerged in the mid-20th century. As a pioneer of the Neo Sports Café style, the Honda CB 1000R exudes an aggressive personality, with a curved forward riding position and an aesthetically strong element in the engine. New seven-spoke cast aluminum wheels add an elaborate and eye-catching look.

The round headlight, a component of strong identity, now has an oval frame and is in a position further back between the forks of the front suspension. New is the design of the polished aluminum radiator frames, more compact and inclined, a style that is repeated in the covers of the air filter housing. The sinuous aluminum subframe has been completely redesigned and now has a silver finish on the base version, which highlights the essentiality of the rear, which also features a smaller plate holder.

The visual revitalization was extended to elements of great importance, such as the instrument panel, now a 5.0-inch high-visibility TFT color display. There are four types of engine speed and rotation display, selectable according to the driver's preference, who can use the multi-color line technology to activate the shift light, gear shift indicator, fuel level/consumption indication , selection of riding mode and engine parameters and gear engaged indicator. All management of these preferences is done by buttons on the left wrist.

The Honda Roadsync connectivity system with HSVCS technology - Honda Smartphone Voice Control System, debuts on the CB 1000R and allows the smartphone to be connected, which makes it possible to enjoy facilities such as managing phone calls, messages, music selection and navigation while riding. . For this, it is necessary to wear a helmet with an audio system and built-in microphone, which connects to the smartphone and instrument panel via Bluetooth. The management of the HSVCS system can also be done from the buttons on the left handlebar grip. A USB-Type C port located under the passenger seat allows for smartphone charging.

Engine...The CB 1000R's 998cc inline 4-cylinder DOHC engine has its origins in the CBR 1000RR Fireblade. Adapted for naked use, the red range of the tachometer starts at 11,500 rpm, with the rev limiter kicking in at 12,000 rpm. The 2022 CB 1000R received optimized tunings in the PGM-FI system, which resulted in more progressive power delivery and better throttle responses.

The high torque, which is felt especially in the range between 6,000 and 8,000 rpm, offers an exhilarating driving experience, allowing for quick accelerations and speed pick-ups that practically eliminate the intensive use of the gear.

The new air filter box as well as the intake ducts and the air filter itself provided an improvement in the intake of air into the engine. Such a change reduced pressure losses, more effectively feeding the 44 mm diameter butterfly bodies connected to carefully designed combustion chambers, where forged aluminum pistons work.

The gear shifting favors powerful accelerations, especially between 30 and 130 km/h. The new power-assisted/slipper clutch requires minimal effort to engage and is perfectly sized for the fast, strong downshifts typical of sport riding.

The 4-2-1 exhaust, with 4 short-sized catalytic converters inside the main chamber, in addition to contributing to the general reduction in weight, favors power at medium rpm. The sound has been improved and above 5,500 rpm the 'voice' of the CB 1000R engine becomes deeper and more intense.

Engine electronic systems...The TBW - Throttle By Wire electronic throttle system allows the driver to precisely control the CB 1000R's powerful engine. Three riding modes are available as standard plus the customizable USER mode. The selection of modes is carried out on the left grip, with visualization through the TFT instrument panel.

There are three levels of power (P), engine braking (EB) and traction control (HSTC) available; the HSTC system can also be disabled. These three modes offer different combinations of each parameter.

RAIN mode uses the lowest and least aggressive power setting and medium engine braking effect and high traction control. Lower power and torque levels are determined for the first three gears.

STANDARD mode uses medium power levels, engine braking and traction control. This mode smooths the power delivery in first and second gears, and uses a curve just below that of the SPORT mode, with reduced torque when the throttle is partially open.

SPORT mode uses the highest level of power delivery and the lowest levels of engine braking and traction control, thus delivering maximum power and torque in all six gears and throughout the entire utilization range, with minimal intervention of the HSTC system.

Finally, the USER mode allows the driver to choose between three settings for each parameter and records those options.

Cycling...The cycling part of the CB 1000R has not changed for 2022. The Diamond-type steel monobeam chassis has two robust aluminum plates in the axle region that connect the long (574.2 mm) single-arm suspension swingarm to the chassis. The caster is 25° and the trail is 100 mm. The wheelbase is 1,452 mm and the dry weight is 200 kg for the CB 1000R version and 201 kg for the exclusive Black Edition version. The weight distribution between front and rear is 48.5% - 51.5%.

The riding position allows for a natural leaning forward of the driver thanks to the triangle formed by the wide aluminum handlebars, the seat at 830 mm above the ground and slightly recessed footpegs. The fuel tank is wide, but with indentations on the sides to give space for the knees.

The front suspension is a Showa SFF-BP - Separated Function Fork Big Piston, with damping in one of the forks and the spring function in the other. Such an architecture has made it possible to reduce weight and combine full efficiency and comfort in a wide range of uses. The Showa rear monoshock has adjustable spring preload and rebound damping.

Braking with two-channel ABS is handled by radial-mount four-piston brake calipers acting on 310 mm diameter floating discs. The rear disc is 256 mm in diameter and has a two-piston caliper. New, elaborately designed seven-spoke cast aluminum wheels exude elegance and boldness; the rear tire is sized 190/55 ZR17 and the front tire is 120/70 ZR17.

Price, colors, warranty...The Honda CB 1000R and Honda CB 1000R Black Edition have a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty, in addition to Honda Assistance (24-hour assistance) for the duration of the warranty.

The arrival at dealerships throughout Brazil will be in April. The suggested price for the CB 1000R (Federal District base) is 69,000 reais and the available colors are metallic red and metallic silver. For the CB 1000R Black Edition, the suggested price is 76,750 reais in pearlescent black (local currency).
