Mechanical horse FH 540 has consolidated leadership in Brazil

In 2021, the Volvo FH 540 repeats another important milestone in its already successful trajectory in the Brazilian market: it was once again the best-selling truck among all categories sold in the country. The model was once again ahead of all others, with the license plate of 8,935 units from January to December last year, according to statistics released today by Fenabrave, an entity that brings together dealerships of all brands in the country.

With this result, the number of times the FH leads the survey among heavy trucks in the last 13 years comes to nine. “More than that, from 2019 until now, the FH 540 leads the general ranking of trucks in the country, ahead even of light models. It is an unparalleled achievement in Brazil”, celebrates Alcides Cavalcanti, Volvo's executive director of trucks.

“The FH has become an object of desire for the Brazilian transporter. With the high diesel price and a competitive freight scenario, the truck's attributes stand out: low fuel consumption, lower maintenance cost, great robustness and availability, in addition to the high degree of on-board technology and connectivity. The model is definitely the best choice in commercial transport”, declares Cavalcanti. The executive also recalls that Volvo prepared itself at the beginning of last year with the hiring of 400 new employees to increase production, which ensured the Volvo FH's high market share.

New generation...Since October, the Volvo FH delivered has been the new generation, launched in Brazil shortly after being presented in Europe. They bring as standard an unprecedented package of safety devices, a new panel with an advanced digital platform and advances in aerodynamics and connectivity, which guarantee fuel consumption up to 5% lower than the previous generation. “Volvo engineering is continuously updating technologies and improving solutions in the FH to provide more and more productivity and safety in the transport operation”, highlights Cavalcanti.

Resale Champion...Another great achievement of the Volvo FH 540 in 2021 was registered in the used car market. Based on data from the FIPE table, the model was recognized as 'Resale Champion 2021', in the category of heavy trucks above 500 hp, in certification granted by Frota & Cia magazine, a traditional publication in the transport sector in Brazil. It was the sixth time that the FH won first place in surveys of this type.
