Elon Musk's automaker ended the year with more than 900,000 vehicles delivered
US automaker Tesla typically reports quarterly results immediately, so third-party experts were quick to mention their own forecasts for the previous year. Many are convinced that Tesla delivered up to 290,000 cars in the last quarter, and by the end of the year its number exceeded 900,000 units.
Of course, it does not reach the psychologically important mark of 1 million electric vehicles, but technically the company is already capable of producing this amount of cars per week, which corresponds to an annual volume of 1 million copies. Analysts at Deutsche Bank said the company's efforts to increase production of the Model 3 and Model Y in China resulted in the company ending the quarter with 282,000 electric vehicles shipped. This breaks the record set in the third quarter with its 241,300 Tesla EVs.
In fact, to deliver more than 900,000 electric vehicles by the end of the year, Tesla needs to launch 272,650 electric vehicles in the fourth quarter. Credit Suisse estimates that Tesla completed the fourth quarter with 290,000 electric vehicles delivered. RBC Capital Markets experts almost agree with them, citing 285,000 electric vehicles delivered.
Deutsche Bank believes that by 2022 the company will be able to deliver 1.47 million electric vehicles and, if the impact of the shortage of semiconductor components weakens, that number will be higher. Loup Ventures predicts Tesla's ability to deliver between 1.2 million and 1.3 million electric vehicles next year. This will allow the company to maintain a dominant position in the North American market, as Rivian will hardly ship more than 42,000 electric vehicles, and Lucid will be limited to 22,000.
