New C5 Aircross SUV shows that it has many attributes

With more than 260,000 units sold since its launch in 2018, the C5 Aircross has left its mark in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, as a result of its livability, its versatility and, above all, its comfort, unmatched in the segment. The welcoming interior, which is a true signature of the brand, as well as the brand's experience in passenger cars and MPVs, set it apart from the competition. The C5 Aircross remains the leader in terms of interior versatility and offers a more relaxed onboard experience. This feeling is reinforced in the plug-in hybrid version, which already represents more than 30% of the sales mix in Europe.

The model takes on the change of expression and the desire to go up a level in terms of perception of quality and elegance, especially notable at the front, are the defining characteristics of the new C5 Aircross. The model becomes more interesting and will appeal to customers looking for a more distinctive character.

A more elaborate, elongated, modern and high-tech front part...Visually larger and imposing, the C5 Aircross introduces a new design in which curves give way to more elaborate lines. The front end styling received an aesthetic update to become more upright and modern, reinforcing the character of a safe and imposing vehicle. The taut lines and gradual vertical construction contribute to the visual
widening of the C5 Aircross's front end. By looking wider and more imposing on the road, it has a confident attitude.

The new C5 Aircross has a new interpretation of the brand's logo, which gradually gains independence and stands out in the daytime running lights, thus marking an advance over other models in the line, where the chevrons were extended to the daytime running lights through a chrome strip. The chevrons now appear in lacquered black, complemented with a chrome finish. They visually extend through a set of increasingly tight chrome and black piano keys that gradually evolve into LED daytime running lights. Very subtle, refined and detailed work has been done in this area to improve the overall impression. This solution gives the logo more space to stand out in the center of the grid.

Characteristic of the new Citroën identity, the V-shaped signature of the LED daytime running lights is achieved through a piano key-like design that gives a high-tech, deeper-looking 3D effect to the front lights. In addition, the Vision LED projectors are more discreet and dark, visually extending the black grille and further accentuating the vehicle's robustness.

The logo and V-shaped light signature are underlined at the bottom of the grille by a high-quality lacquered black stripe, carefully designed down to the graphic details: the chevron-shaped pattern that starts below the logo moves vertically up to become parallel to the daytime running lights signature piano keys.

Under the grille, the new style of the air intake area visually widens the front of the C5 Aircross and gives it a more imposing stance on the road. The air intakes, which have become open and functional, appear to be sculpted by air and help improve aerodynamics. The color of the inserts that adorn the air intakes contributes to the elevation of the vehicle's positioning, with bright or pearly hues such as Glossy Black and Dark Chrome. The central air inlet is also more dynamic and elegant thanks to defined lines that reflect the style of the central air inlets of the C4 and C5 X.

The protection plate in the lower area of ​​the front bumper makes the front part more dynamic and gives it an appearance of greater quality and prestige. It is available in two materials, both very elegant, depending on the finish level: in Glossy Black in the Feel finish, and in Glossy Aluminum in the Feel Pack, C-Series, Shine and Shine Pack finishes.

A more dynamic profile, a new visual signature at the rear...The new vertical and structured profile at the front reinforces, at first glance, the perception of power and robustness. This evolution also takes place at the rear, through the new structured lenses of the lanterns. The C5 Aircross has a distinctive stance, expressed through its full and generous shaping, its raised and horizontal hood, as well as the 360° glazed area, with the signature C-shaped chrome side, which reinforces the floating effect of the roof. . The attributes of a powerful and protective SUV are also present in the muscular side panels: ground clearance of 230 mm, large wheels measuring 720 mm in diameter, 360° protections including Airbump and wheel arches, distinctive roof bars and a dominant driving position.

In addition, several new styling elements on the side panels enhance its elegance and modernity, such as the new 18-inch PULSAR alloy wheels with a glossy finish and a very graphic aerodynamic design, as well as a subtle play of colors and materials between the aluminum and glossy black. As an example, we have the new Gloss Black color of the mirror housings, standard across the line, which enhances the elegance and perceived quality, the functional roof bars in Glossy Black with a new matte black insert and the new design for the Airbump color packs, reflecting the interesting colors of the front inserts.

Completely consistent with the front of the vehicle, the C5 Aircross has a new three-dimensional LED light signature at the rear. Without changing its size, the lighting unit is now equipped with dark, structured glass, highlighting the three LED lighting modules that make up the light signature. Graphic elements accentuate elegance and consistency with the light signature on the front. As with the front, the subtle design of the piano keys reinforces the deep 3D effect of the light signature.

More elegant and dynamic personalization...To better meet the expectations of C-segment SUV customers, the new C5 Aircross relies on elegant personalization to significantly improve the vehicle's positioning elevation.

The C5 Aircross adopts a new Eclipse Blue body color, a very deep and elegant blue that varies between dark blue and black, depending on the light that falls on it. The range has now been narrowed down to more interesting and customer-preferred body colors: Polar White, Pearl White, Perla Nera Black, Platinium Grey, Artense Gray and the new Eclipse Blue colour.

The new shades of the color packs are present in the front air intakes and in the Airbump. Four new color packs that allow the C5 Aircross to assert its SUV character and elegance: Glossy Black, Dark Chrome, Anodized Bronze and Energetic Blue. The black two-tone roof and black roof bars of the Shine trim level add even more refinement to the vehicle.

A cabin evolved for greater comfort and refinement...Following the evolution and modernization of the exterior, the cabin of the new C5 Aircross received a more dynamic and refined update, with improvements in space and comfort that are obvious. The high driving position, the perceived quality of the materials and the ergonomics and the practical character of the interfaces allow it to assume itself as a modern and distinguished SUV.

A new 10-inch touchscreen...The C5 Aircross receives a new 10-inch touchscreen that appears to float on the dashboard and envelops the driver and passengers in a more modern cabin. This new, larger screen improves ergonomics by offering direct access controls for climate control and a higher readout that allows the driver to keep their eyes on the road. Ventilation vents are now located under the screen and have been modernized with a new sharp, horizontal design. The new 10-inch touchscreen has a navigation function in the petrol and diesel versions and will be available from the Feel version onwards in the hybrid version.

Furthermore, the fully customizable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster provides all essential information directly in the driver's line of sight: navigation map, information on active driver assistance systems, information on the operating status of the hybrid powertrain, etc. ., ensuring the driver's eyes remain on the road for greater driving safety.

New Citroën Advanced Comfort seats...The C5 Aircross is equipped with the new generation of Citroën Advanced Comfort seats already present in the C4 and C5 X models. Made with high density foam in the seat core, an extra 15 mm foam layer and a specific construction, Citroën Advanced Comfort seats offer the best in terms of visual comfort, user comfort and driving comfort, as well as their long-term maintenance, thanks to a special type of foam with greater resistance to deformation over the long term. of time. To further improve the comfort of the driver and front passenger, the seats have a heating and massage function.

The colors and materials have been equally refined, with a choice of materials of excellence to enhance comfort and a higher quality. The seats feature a new structured, contemporary fabric in the mid-range versions, a new soft-touch Alcantara fabric in the Shine level, as well as a new high-quality perforated leather option. The armrests and center console are made using a new black leather effect fabric and the instrument panel uses a new black structured fabric, also with leather effect.

The modernized entry-level environment and the four new Advanced Comfort environments create a more elegant, dynamic and qualitative atmosphere. The new blue stitching decorates the seats, the door panels and the instrument panel in all environments in a very coherent and elegant way. The Wild Black ambience replaces the Wild Gray ambience with a new structured black fabric together with a new gray leather-effect fabric and blue stitching. The Urban Black ambience combines a new black Alcantara fabric and a black leather-effect fabric. The Metropolitan Black ambience replaces the current Metropolitan Gray with a new black textured leather fabric and new gray leather-effect fabric. Finally, the Hype Black environment was renewed to decorate the finishes of the top-of-the-line versions with a subtle mix between the new perforated Paloma leather and Blue Nappa leather.

New center console...The high and wide center console has been modernized with a black fabric with a leather effect, enhanced by chrome design lines that underline, in versions with automatic transmission, a more ergonomic layout of the controls: a new, elegant and technologically advanced e-Toggle gear selector, a new driving mode selection button that incorporates the Grip Control function and, in plug-in hybrid versions, an intuitive choice of driving mode (Electric, Hybrid or Sport). The center console also features a large storage compartment that groups the connectivity area with two USB ports and a wireless charger.

Distinctive elements of on-board comfort... As a distinct representative of the comfort inherent in Citroën's DNA, the new C5 Aircross maintains characteristics that distinguish it in its segment, contributing to an overall experience focused on well-being and ease of use.

The suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Stopper technology, exclusive to Citroën, improves the absorption of road imperfections and ensures that passengers travel in absolute comfort, with a real ‘flying carpet’ effect.

It is the only SUV in its segment to offer three individual, sliding, reclining and retractable rear seats, allowing you to enjoy modularity at the level of an MPV in a true SUV. The trunk volume is also a record in the segment: from 580 to 720 liters for the petrol and diesel versions and from 460 to 600 liters for the hybrid version. Special attention was also paid to the acoustic characteristics with the possibility of benefiting from laminated front windows that amplify the cocoon effect inside the car.

Plug-in hybrid: the ultimate comfort experience...The offer of a plug-in hybrid engine in the mid-range versions of the range further improves on-board well-being, thanks to the benefits of electric driving on daily journeys of up to 55 km and of unlimited autonomy for long journeys using the gasoline engine.

The plug-in hybrid engine allows silent and vibration-free driving in electric mode up to 135 km/h and offers an instant availability of 320 Nm of torque, guaranteeing permanent user comfort by ensuring acceleration capability at all times. With zero CO2 emissions, it gives freedom of access to urban areas where gasoline and diesel vehicles are prohibited.

Users of the Plug-In Hybrid C5 Aircross also benefit from a range of services to facilitate charging, with direct management from the vehicle or from their smartphone, as well as the possibility of programming charging times. Charging is fast, with a full charge being achieved in less than two hours via a wallbox.

A smooth journey thanks to on-board technologies...The C5 Aircross offers a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies to improve the comfort and safety of its occupants on a daily basis.
