AERO B 2023: is the brand's electrified sedan that will soon arrive on the market
After two SUVs and a five-door compact, the German brand's line of electric cars will undergo a transformation, as the new electric minivan and electric van that will be launched in the first quarter of 2022 will be joined by another bodywork: a sedan. The new Volkswagen Aero B 2023 has already been seen in tests, and its development is being generated in Europe and China.
The Volkswagen sedan will offer a very sporty design, positioned at the height of the Passat, betting on a suggestive design line with a coupe air, as shown in the images. Volkswagen stylists have printed an arc-shaped profile that houses a fixed glass on the rear pillar, lightening the visual load. The wicket door handles and the rear-view mirrors anchored to the panels reinforce sportiness.
The new sedan will concentrate space on a wide wheelbase, with very short overhangs, and with a more personal design that will be based on the concept ID. Space Vizzion presented just two years ago. The front will feature a more elaborate design, with extremely thin headlamps with 'IQ Light' technology, fused by a thin light strip, hiding under the concealed front grille.
The alloy wheels are identical to those of the early concept, while at the rear the headlamps are also hidden under several layers of vinyl. Perfectly studied so that no details are revealed. Inside we will also see a more sophisticated and more elaborate style compared to the current electric ones, more typical of a high-end.
The Volkswagen Aero B, as it is known today, is not its definitive name. The German brand changed its initial plans by positioning the new ID.5 as an extra model rather than a version of the ID.4. And the same happened with the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, which has been given a proper name. Furthermore, with the intention of bringing the ID.6 from China and with the status assigned to Aero B, at this time the name ID.7 stands as the first choice.
It's just that this status has a lot to do with the level on the line. One of the big news is hidden under the body, a revision of the MEB platform to adapt to sedan development. The second novelty has to do with propulsion, as Volkswagen will debut a new line of electric motors with more power. For example, the rear-wheel drive and single-engine versions will offer a minimum of 200 kW, so that along with the different levels available, full-wheel drive options with 268, 300 and 370 hp will be configured. The battery will also count between 77 and 100 kWh, offering between 590 and 700 kilometers of autonomy.
