NISSAN

NISSAN E NISMO REVELAM CARRO DE CORRIDA NISSAN Z GT500 PARA A SUPER GT SERIES

Brand shows off his new racing car in action at the Fuji circuit

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd. unveiled the Nissan Z GT500 racing car at the Fuji International Speedway circuit. Completely redesigned, the model will compete in the Super GT Series starting in the 2022 season.

Following its Nissan NEXT transformation plan, announced in May this year, Nissan is transforming its business to further enhance brand equity. As part of the strategy, the Japanese manufacturer will participate in the very competitive Super GT Series with its brand new Nissan Z sports car.

Nissan has always worked to deliver a lot of emotion to its customers through innovation. In the early 1970s, the company clinched consecutive wins in the SCCA C Production Series championship with its S30 240Z, when it was just starting to compete in US motor racing. Already in the 90s, Nissan achieved numerous victories in the IMSA Series, with the Z32 300ZX, in addition to its participation in the JGTC/Super GT series with the Z33 in the 2000s, which culminated with the championship title.

Ashwani Gupta, Nissan COO, commented: “The Nissan Z GT500 epitomizes Nissan's spirit of taking on challenges and making life more exciting. We continue to drive innovations in our cars through our sports car strategy, competing to win with the same boldness demonstrated so many times over the years.”

Takao Katagiri, President and CEO of NISMO, commented: “We are entering the 2022 edition of the Super GT series with our brand new Nissan Z GT500 car and our great passion for sports car racing. We hope our fans will continue to passionately root for Nissan and its NISMO motorsport teams.”
