GMC HUMMER EV ENTRA EM PRODUÇÃO: PRONTO PARA A AÇÃO

Hummer EV goes into production in the US

This week has been very special for a manufacturer in the United States who has seen one of his great creations of recent years finally go into production. We're talking about the GMC Hummer EV, to put it another way, the most electrifying return of the popular American brand in a battery-powered pickup format with which General Motors intends to revolutionize the pickup truck market.

The spectacular pick-up is now ready to meet its owners and the place that absorbed all the prominence was General Motors' Factory ZERO, the plant where the GMC Hummer EV is produced. “We brought this pick-up to market with speed and agility, and took GM one step closer to an all-electric future. With our Ultium platform as the foundation for a wide range of applications, the GMC Hummer EV offers our customers the very latest and greatest in capacity and performance,” notes GM President Mark Reuss.

This huge electric vehicle is the first to use the new modular architecture manufactured by General Motors, a platform called Ultium that will give life to different products from the different brands that make up the American giant. This chassis allows to offer a configuration of up to three electric motors, capable of developing up to 1,000 hp of power and with a battery pack of no less than 200 kWh, so that the car's autonomy exceeds 500 kilometers.

With an exterior white 'Interstellar White' color and an interior coated with a unique finish in a shade called 'Lunar Horizon', this electric pickup truck exhibits some very interesting features such as its four-wheel CrabWalk steering, adaptive air suspension that it allows to raise the body by 15 centimeters, the driving assistant called Super Cruise and a driving mode that offers maximum performance from the propulsion system. In reference to the latter, GM says the Hummer EV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3 seconds.

It is worth remembering that the first unit that came off the assembly line, VIN 001, was auctioned earlier this year at an event organized by Barrett-Jackson in March. The vehicle sold for nearly $2 million and all proceeds went to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which builds affordable, mortgage-free smart homes for veterans with the most serious injuries and for Gold Star families.

Last but not least, it should be noted that anyone interested in purchasing a copy of Edition 1 is unfortunately too late, as they are all sold out. However, GMC already admits reservations for other versions of the Hummer EV.
