GEELY E RENAULT PODEM ESTAR FLERTANDO COM UMA NOVA ALIANÇA

Rumors indicate future alliance Geely and Renault

It seems that Renault is clear that without China it cannot survive. After the failed alliance with Dongfeng, the French manufacturer turned its eyes to Geely, a giant that currently controls major brands such as Volvo, Lotus, Polestar and Lynk & CO.

Still unconfirmed, rumors indicate that this collaboration with the French is of great interest to Geely, who wants to take advantage of Renault's good position in South Korea, a country that, incidentally, would give it direct access to the United States to market its interesting Lynk models & Co.

Taking advantage of Renault-Samsung's facilities in South Korea, Lynk & Co 01 could be produced there to meet local demand and exports to the United States should it start operating. On the other hand, Renault would take advantage of Geely's network in China and the joint development of new PHEV vehicles.

How to take advantage of an eventual collaboration with Geely? Having at its disposal the excellent CMA platform that is used by the Volvo XC40 and by the Lynk & CO is simple, Renault would get an excellent base to produce several models that would be reserved only for Chinese customers. A new brand with Geely technology and a Renault project could possibly also be launched between both automobile groups.

Anyway, these are all simple rumors and there is no confirmation. What is clear is that Chinese companies are advancing at an impressive pace, while traditional European and Japanese brands are already feeling the pressure exerted by newcomers. And the curious thing about all this is that the Chinese have just started their offensive.
