Concept XM anticipates the future of the Bavaria brand

After several official advances and even a leak, the new BMW Concept XM was unveiled. The presentation of the expected conceptual model has arrived and brings with it interesting news. The production version of the BMW Concept XM will be introduced in 2022 and will arrive to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the BMW M. The BMW XM will be a high-performance plug-in hybrid SUV that will also offer a high level of exclusivity.

The new BMW Concept XM features a distinctive exterior design. The new, progressive front design of BMW's luxury models debuts. A concept that will be applied to production models for the first time in 2022. Starting from the front, the first thing that catches your eye is the huge grid made up of the characteristic kidneys. They are flanked by slender headlamps divided into two separate modules to form a new luminous signature.

The black details are noticeable in the grid. The typical M dual blades are inside it to increase the feeling of width. In addition, and following the grid, the new XM logo can also be found on it. Large air intakes reveal that this is a high-performance vehicle.

The side view brings out its SUV essence although it indicates a coupe influence. The elongated hood and the roofline are two characteristic features of this model. In fact, the body has a two-tone finish where Space Gray metallic is combined with the Gold Bronze color with a matte finish. Likewise, it is important to highlight the M external mirrors and the 23-inch alloy wheels.

Regarding the rear, the shape of the headlamps and the way in which the porthole glass was integrated draws powerfully attention. The arrangement of the exhaust outlets integrated between the diffuser and the bumper is another of the identity keys of this model.

As for the interior of the new XM Concept, we are surrounded by a technological and futuristic environment. The BMW M's own details are evident in the center console which is oriented towards the driver. The vintage looking brown leather upholstery is an element that allows it to connect with the sports brand's past. To that must be added copper and carbon fiber. Rear seats in the exclusive M Lounge allow you to enjoy a pleasant experience on board the XM. The rear of the cabin is covered with upholstery in Petrol tone. The rear seat creates a space that invites you to relax and enjoy the ride. Also worth mentioning is the ambient lighting system that can be configured in the three colors of the BMW M.

The nerve center is the BMW Curved Display system. A grouping of screens to play the role of digital dashboard and screen for the infotainment system. It is based on the latest generation of BMW iDrive with a specific M version of the operating system.

In the bowels of the new Concept XM is an electrified propulsion system. More specifically, the German brand opted for plug-in hybrid technology (PHEV). The production model that advances this concept car will be BMW M's first electrified vehicle in the high-performance segment. A model that will pave the way for the brand's future.

The plug-in hybrid propulsion system combines a V8 gasoline engine with an electric motor. The maximum power will reach 750 hp and 1000 Nm of maximum torque. In addition, and what is equally important, the company highlights that it has a 100% electrical autonomy of up to 80 kilometers. It will combine performance and efficiency.

Regarding its arrival on the market, production of the new BMW XM will start at the end of 2022. The manufacturing will take place at the BMW Group's facilities in Spartanburg, in the US state of South Carolina. The company emphasizes that the United States will be yours most important market. It will be available exclusively in a hybrid plug-in version and as an M model.
