Projection of the new Subaru 2022 appears for the first time on the web...In 2017, the fifth generation of the Subaru Impreza entered the scene. The Japanese manufacturer was returning to the popular C-segment with a very interesting proposal and, which is equally relevant, with an iconic commercial name. A few years later, in full swing and at the height of sustainable mobility, Subaru introduced in some markets the hybrid version (HEV) of its compact.

Subaru is a very reticent manufacturer when it comes to revealing concrete details about the models it is working on. What's more, the Subaru models that are in development are a 'rare bird' for on-call photographers. It turns out that we can practically count with the fingers of one hand the snapshots of test and prototype mules.

The fact that Subaru test specimens are not photographed does not mean that they do not exist. The Japanese brand is very zealous and tries to avoid by all means prying eyes. Still, with a special emphasis on Japan, there were new and interesting details about one of the projects the brand is working on. It is neither more nor less than the new Subaru Impreza 2023.

Considering the moment that the current model entered the scene, the time has come for a major renovation. A complete update will see the light in approximately a year and will bring important new developments in terms of design and mechanics.

Aesthetic changes will be especially important in the hatchback model. The objective is clear, the Impreza line must adapt to Subaru's new design philosophy. A language we can find in newly introduced models like the new Subaru BRZ and Subaru WRX.

As for the mechanical part, it is expected that the offer will consist of two 4-cylinder engines of 1.2 and 2.0 liters. There is also speculation that the new 1.5 liter engine will be introduced. In some markets, the model will also have to bet on electrification, as is currently the case. However, there is currently no information about a new hybrid version.

Regarding its arrival on the market, the presentation is scheduled for the month of November 2022. Therefore, the new Impreza will not reach dealers until the first half of 2023. It is expected that it will initially be offered for sale in Japan and later will be introduced in other parts of the world.
