Yellowbird according to Manhart

We have already seen the 992 Turbo (S), but Manhart is not finished with the previous generation. That is not bad at all, because there will undoubtedly be people who prefer the previous generation over the 992. If only for financial reasons.
Manhart is best known as a BMW tuner, but nowadays also uses left and right models from other brands. For example, they had previously taken care of the Porsche 991 Turbo S. This resulted in the TR 700, with – yes – 700 hp.

Apparently, however, they thought there was more to be gained. They do it all over again.
So we now get the Manhart TR 850 presented. This one has – you guessed it correctly – 850 hp. The torque has been increased to 1,090 Nm. By default, the Turbo S has to do with a ‘meager’ 580 hp and 700 Nm of torque.



Obviously, the effect on performance will not fail. Manhart claims a 0-100 time of 2.4 seconds. 200 km / h could then be tapped in 4.9 seconds and then you can continue to pedal to well over 330 km / h. In combination with the yellow color, this is reminiscent of the legendary Yellowbird, which lost everything and everyone in the late 1980s. That was just a creation of another German company.



Manhart has managed the power upgrade through, among other things, optimized turbochargers, a new intercooler and a new exhaust system. In addition to the hardware, the ECU has also been ‘tinkered’. The exhaust system not only provides extra power, but of course also a more aggressive sound. That doesn’t hurt, because a Turbo S sounds pretty tame by default.



The appearance could also be a bit more aggressive. The Porsche 991 Turbo S has therefore received Manhart rims and striping. The ground clearance has also been reduced to 30 mm. The bright yellow color also helps.
The only question remains: what does such a Manhart Porsche 991 Turbo S cost? Manhart charges € 23,436.97 for the motor tuning. You could still order items such as the exhaust system and rims separately. If you want everything orders you arrive at a total amount of € 37,124.36.
