BRAND MODEL MAKES BEAUTIFUL ON TOUR DE FRANCE

It seems brief, but 17 years have passed since Skoda became an official partner of one of the most important competitions in the world of cycling, namely the Tour de France. During all these years the Czech brand took the opportunity to show its cars and in this edition it will provide a total of 250 vehicles, including a very special one that has just debuted: the Skoda Enyaq iV.

Tour director Christian Prudhomme was chosen to take command of Skoda’s first electric crossover, which serves as the ‘mobile control center’, as well as the competition stewards of the famous cycling race. His debut as 'Red Car' (main vehicle of the peloton) took place during the journey of last Wednesday (02/09) in the 183 km stage between Gap and Privas, where numerous copies of the new generation of Octavia were also present.

Skoda prepared an Enyaq especially for the Tour, with the usual red paint covering the body of an ecological SUV that also has a panoramic roof, six antennas, special sirens, a refrigerator, as well as a state-of-the-art communication and command center. on the back. Thanks to this, Prudhomme can keep in touch with the competition stewards and with other vehicles in the race, and exchange information about the state of the road with them.

It should be noted that the first Skoda model based on the Volkswagen Group's modular electric propulsion platform (MEB) will also accompany cyclists in the individual time trial of Lure a La Planche des Belles, scheduled for September 19, as well as in the final stage 122 km, where participants will reach the goal on Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

Recalling that the Enyaq is an electric SUV that is offered with various levels of power, ranging from 146 to 302 hp, with rear or full traction versions and with three types of batteries. In this way, the autonomy can go from 340 to 510 kilometers, with a price starting from 39,000 euros.
