Brand presents another model to try to make a difference in the SUV's market

Qoros has already revealed the first details of this new model for a few months. A vehicle that is already official and from which all the relevant details have been announced. This is the Qoros 7, an SUV that is destined to play an important role in the new and crucial stage in which the Chinese brand embarked. Such is the importance given to this launch that it is described as a ‘last attempt’ to boost this Chinese brand.
The Qoros brand was created in 2007 by Chinese manufacturer Chery together with Israeli capital from Israel Corporation. At the end of 2017, the Baoneng Group obtained a strategic stake to retain control (63%). Its headquarters are in Shanghai (China). Currently, it goes through a real ‘crossing the desert’. Proof of this is that in 2019 its sales reached 1,806 units, which means a 20.26% drop compared to the previous year.



If we consider that Qoros currently operates in China, this sales volume is negligible. That is why it makes perfect sense in the world that, taking advantage of the launch of the new Qoros 7, we speak of ‘a new era’ for the company.



Qoros 7 adopts the new design language that the brand will use in this new stage. The Chinese manufacturer ensures that this new model inherits the brand's DNA in ‘quality, safety and internationalization’. Recalling that in the past Qoros has tried to enter the European market, but has failed. At the front there is a huge grid whose pattern emanates directly from the company logo. The emblem is located in an upper zone. In addition, the headlights exhibit a characteristic shape and make use of LED technology.



The rear shows a sporty and dynamic air thanks to the roof drop, the surrounding lanterns and the two tailpipes perfectly integrated into the bumper. Nor can we ignore the roof spoiler and the subtle, but interesting diffuser.
As for the interior of Qoros 7, we are surrounded by an environment where quality is breathed. Everything indicates that the brand did a good job. The main element that will quickly catch our attention is the huge 14.6-inch touchscreen that is used to operate virtually all of the vehicle's systems.


The instrumentation is a mixture of the MBUX system from Mercedes and Tesla (14.6 inch screen on the center console)

There is also a digital instrument panel with a 12.3 inch LCD screen. The level of connectivity is quite high, you can even receive remote OTA updates. In addition, it has a long list of driving assistance systems. Materials of very acceptable quality have been used and there are numerous details of equipment to enjoy a comfortable trip aboard this vehicle.
Regarding the mechanical part, there is no sign of electrification. It has a selection of gasoline engines. The access option has a block of 1.6 liters and a step above there is a 1.8 liter engine. Both are turbo and are coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. These mechanics comply with China VI emission standards.
