DODGE RAM: BRAND REACHES 10 THOUSAND EMPLOYMENTS IN BRAZIL

After the end of August, RAM reached 10,245 license plates in the Brazilian market since the brand began its history in the country in 2005, according to data from Fenabrave.
From January until now, 947 units of the Nova RAM 2500 have been registered, a number already 45.3% higher than that obtained in the 12 months of 2019. This allows us to predict that 2020 will be a record year for RAM, even with all the difficulties, such as the effects of the pandemic and the rise in the dollar.
“Our estimate is at least 1,500 license plates, surpassing our best result, which was 1,343 sales in 2012”, says Breno Kamei, director of RAM for Latin America. In addition to the year mentioned by the executive, when RAM was launched in Brazil as a separate brand from Dodge, the house of 1,000 units per year was reached only in 2007 (1,013) and 2008 (1,190).
The good results of 2020 show how well the New RAM 2500 was accepted, with its combination of strength, grandeur, luxury and technology unmatched in the country's pick-up market. Another success factor this year is the acceleration of agribusiness, where most of the vehicle's customers leave.
"Reaching 10,000 units over these 15 years is an important level because RAM is still a niche brand here, being the only one to offer a full size pick-up," says Kamei. And if the present is positive, what is to come is even better. "The Brazilian history of the RAM brand is about to be enriched by very important chapters".

Trajectory:
2005 - Still as part of the Dodge line, the RAM 2500 is launched in Brazil in the SLT version. Cummins inline 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine has 5.9 liters, 330 hp and 795 Nm and 4-speed automatic transmission. Pick-up was offered with a simple cabin.

2012 - A new generation of 2500 arrives, marking the new phase of RAM as an independent brand from Dodge (since 2009 in the USA). Only with a double cabin, in a more spacious configuration than before, it starts to be imported in the sophisticated Laramie version. Mechanics are all new, with 6.7-liter, 310 hp and 824 Nm engine and 6-speed transmission.

2015 - The RAM 2500 Laramie receives several updates, such as the Uconnect system with 8.4-inch screen and RamBox compartments, on the sides of the bucket. Power rises to 330 hp and torque to 1,020 Nm. Towing capacity is increased to 7,750 kg.

2019 - At the end of the year, the Nova RAM 2500 brings innovations such as the new 12-inch multimedia center, sound with external noise cancellation and more security with blind spot monitoring and cross rear traffic alert. Reformulated, the propeller starts to develop 365 hp and 1,086 Nm.

2020 - RAM 2500 Laramie Night Edition is launched, the brand's first special series in Brazil. Configuration has a different design, with a dark finish replacing the chrome ones.
