Q2 2021: Brand model receives a welcome update

Audi introduced the Q2 four years ago and has since become a success. However, the Germans wanted to increase their appeal and to do so they launched the Audi Q2 2021. This is the first important update that the compact has undergone since its arrival on the market. A half-life renovation that helps to round off a product that is already established.

The recently launched Q2 2021 is a model that presents a series of novelties that affect both its exterior and interior aspects. The changes compared to its predecessor also extend to its wide offer in terms of technology. It is now available to be ordered in the main markets in Europe.
The new Audi Q2 differs from the model that was commercialized until now in several small details. On the aesthetic level, the most evident change appears in the headlights. They are standard LEDs (with optional Matrix LEDs) and although in a certain way they maintain the same external shape, their internal design varies. Thanks to this, they now resemble those of the brand's latest launches, such as the Audi A3 2021.

The most experienced will also notice changes in the design of the front bumper and in the octagonal Singleframe grille. The renewed style of the front extends to the rear, where polygonal motifs also appear. Equally noteworthy is that the Advanced and S-Line finishes feature subtle grooves between the hood and the grille, a clear nod to the iconic Audi Sport Quattro.
The novelties from the exterior of the Audi Q2 2021 are completed with a color palette with five new shades. They are ‘Green Apple’ (which is new at Audi), ‘Manhattan Gray’, ‘Azul Navarra’, ‘Gray Arrow’ and ‘Blue Turbo’. As before, the rear pillars have areas, which Audi calls 'blade', which can be finished in a contrast color or combined with the rest of the vehicle.

There are three new designs of alloy wheels, with a line that starts from 16 inches and reaches up to 19. In its standard configuration, it offers a headroom of 150 mm above the ground, enough to be able to venture down paths in good state. Those who prefer to enjoy a more dynamic behavior can opt for the optional sports suspension. This reduces headroom by 10 mm and includes the possibility of having adaptive dampers.

The interior of the new Q2 is the same as in the exterior: there are changes, but they are not easily noticed. For example, the air vents in the air conditioning system and the gear lever look different. To this we must add the new line of ambient lighting between the panel and the knee area, which complements those that we have had until now. The same can be said of the upholstery, which changes slightly when Alcantara is replaced by Dynamic microfiber.
Another novelty is that the optional equipment is grouped in packages. With this they seek to facilitate the configuration of the car and to better adapt to the needs of customers. A strategy that will soon extend to the rest of the brand's models. Regarding technology, the same concept will be applied, with a line structured on several levels, ranging from analog instrumentation to the 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit with 8.3-inch MMI Navigation Plus.

Audi's renewed compact SUV hits the market with a line of five engines. Now, the brand has only reported one of them so far. It is a 1.5 TFSI 4-cylinder petrol engine with 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. A well-known spare engine that is able to deactivate half of its cylinders in low load situations to save fuel.
This engine is fitted as standard with a 6-speed manual transmission and optionally an S-Tronic of 7. The brand ensures that throughout the year, we understand that 2020, new TDI and TFSI versions will be added. Some of these engines can be combined with quattro four-wheel drive with a state-of-the-art multi-disc clutch.
