GOLF GTI POWERED YIDO PERFORMANCE: 420 cv/651 Nm

The arrival of the eighth generation Volkswagen Golf has made all sports versions of its predecessor obsolete, but some coaches have not forgotten them and have not been able to wait for their successors. This is the case of the GTI Clubsport, that is, one of the most spicy versions of the German compact, which is now in the news thanks to the work carried out by Yido Performance.
The German preparer equipped the compact with a new body kit consisting of modified bumpers, more aggressive side skirts and a diffuser that perfectly integrates the four tailpipes. The Volkswagen logos front and rear have a black and red finish, but these are not the most visible upgrades, because what really stands out is the peculiar decoration that displays the sports compact, with a mix of different shades and multiple stickers from different sponsors.



This multicolored design contrasts with the 20-inch diameter golden wheels, which are partially hidden behind the wheel arches. There is also an improved brake system with discs bitten by six-piston calipers, as well as an adjustable air suspension and an exhaust line signed by specialist Remus. And we must not forget the interior, which displays seats with backrests matching the body, a santoantonio and a large air tank, among other things.



In the mechanical part the main protagonist is the turbocharged 4-cylinder EA888 2.0-liter engine. We are talking about a propeller that as standard is capable of developing 290 hp of power and a maximum torque of 380 Nm, figures that increase notably thanks to the presence of a larger turbo, an optimized ECU, a carbon intake and an intercooler. Thus, this Clubsport GTI now offers 420 hp and 651 Nm.



These are very high specifications that would be ideal for its bigger brother, the Golf R, due to its all-wheel drive. The preparer did not report the new performance of the German compact, but the original GTI Clubsport needs 5.9 seconds to reach 100 km / h.
