BYD
A very attractive crossover from the brand arrives in Norway
BYD people have always wanted to triumph in Europe, but for various reasons they have only managed to make a little noise in the bus sector, being almost invisible with their car division. They tried with the e6, which although it has a number of units spread across the old continent, did not achieve the desired visibility.
Now the Chinese brand returns with more ambitious plans, but this time with products to match. The activity starts in the same month of August in Norway, but soon many other countries will be able to purchase a company vehicle. The starting line is formed by the beautiful Tang, a crossover of the D segment.
For the time being the Tang marketed in Norway is 100% electric. It has an excellent engine with 489 hp of power and 660 Nm of maximum torque, coupled with an automatic transmission and a total four-wheel drive system. At 4.87 meters and 2.2 tons, it is a large vehicle that surprises by its performance.
To give you an idea of what is going on, the brand announces an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds, while the maximum speed has been limited to 180 km / h. The battery has a useful capacity of 82.8 kWh that allows a range of 500 km according to the NEDC cycle.
The charger installed in the vehicle has a capacity of 7 kW and allows fast recharging of up to 80 kW, this being the only point that can be improved, considering that there are already points distributed across Europe of 100 and up to 150 kW. Very relevant is its towing capacity of up to 1,410 kg, something unusual in electric models.
The standard endowment is very good. It has intelligent LED headlights, leather upholstery, thermal seats, ventilated with massage and electric regulation, automatic rear cover, keyless access, adaptive cruise control, traffic signal reader, pre-collision warning, blind spot control, brake electric hand, anti-fog lights and lane change alert.
The suggested price of the BYD Tang EV 489 CV 4WD Executive was set at 599,900 krona, about 345,000 reais at the current exchange rate. As a comparison, the Audi e-tron equivalent in equipment costs 718,000 crowns (412,000 reais), while the Mercedes-Benz EQC with a lower endowment already starts at 664,000 crowns.
