FORD BRONCO RECEIVES A WELCOME UPDATE FROM SALEEN
The Ford Bronco 2021 has just arrived and we cannot deny that it is one of the most outstanding presentations of the year, at least for the North American market, as customers in other markets will only be able to see the new Bronco if at some point we stumble across one of those rare units that ends up being imported privately as authentic rarities.
The new Bronco 2021 was unveiled this week and the announcement of a radical aftermarket preparation for the new Ford all-terrain is already underway. On this very elaborate occasion, endowed with a tremendously radical configuration, probably the most brutal of the new model that we will see in the coming months. This work comes through the hands of Saleen, an authentic specialist in the models of the blue oval brand.
For the time being these images released by the preparer are just a few renders, but Saleen assures that it intends to launch this kit, as it appears in the images, as soon as the new Bronco hits the streets. It will even respect the curious decoration, as it belongs to the competition version in which the preparer was inspired to design this vitaminized Bronco. This Saleen preparation pays tribute to a famous example of Bronco competition called 'Big Oly', who with Parnelli Jones at the wheel won the Baja 1000 on two occasions during the 1970s.
The new Ford Bronco by Saleen has a very radical chassis configuration that is practically a direct inheritance of the vehicles used in the Baja 1000 today, with an elevated suspension scheme, wider axles with huge tires and wide wheel arches. In addition to a more muscular hood, minimized bumpers and robust metal protections in the lower parts. New upper and rear bars also appear, with two sets of auxiliary headlights on the front.
For the time being Saleen has not talked about mechanical modifications, but this sporty version reminds us, a lot, of the recent Ford Bronco R Concept that precisely competed in the last edition of the Baja. So Saleen will probably also use the prototype's 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine, which in the series model delivers 314 hp and 542 Nm of maximum torque. The Ford Bronco 2021 will arrive at dealerships in the second quarter of 2021, so we should not expect to see a physical unit of this preparation from Saleen before that date.
