TUNNING

CIVIC TYPE-R BY MUGEN

The accessories market preparers know the potential offered by the Honda Civic Type-R, and they also know that it is a car that with some retouching can face other competitors that have speed, but that do not need many other things to get their numbers.
Aware of all this, Mugen presents its improvement program for the Japanese compact, a cast of body parts that improve the appearance of the hatchback. Starting at the front, the preparer offers a splitter, a new hood and a renewed grille, all made of carbon fiber, which gives the Type-R a unique look.

In the side view, new skirts and housings for the rear-view mirrors are offered, both in the same lightweight material, and in the rear the available parts include an airfoil on the rear cover and a more aggressive diffuser. Mugen offers the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser in the same package.

Those who want other components can opt for the Aero & Wheel Set, which combines with Hendy's 20-inch alloy wheels. There are also improvements to the interior, where you can equip a new steering wheel, door protectors, Recaro competition seats with the Mugen logo and a new design for the gear lever, among others. The set is finished off with a sports exhaust system, but there are no engine improvements, as the model retains the powerful 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo block of the conventional Type-R. It offers a maximum power of 320 hp at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 400 Nm between 2,500 rpm and 4,500 rpm. Accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds.
