Model 3 leaves Porsche 991 eating asphalt dust

Tesla's professional electric car tuning team, Unplugged Performance, has built an electric race car based on the Tesla Model 3 Performance and has already achieved a record result. The Unplugged Performance team is now preparing to participate in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Pikes Peak, USA.
The new Tesla Model 3 Ascension from Unplugged Performance debuted at Buttonwillow with a record break, breaking the track at 1:54.266 and breaking the previous record set by the Porsche 991 GT3 RS sports car.

It took the designers of Unplugged Performance just seven days to transform the Model 3 Performance into a race car, although it has undergone several performance improvements. In particular, new wheels were installed, tires, suspension and brakes were replaced. Engineers also had to work with the body to improve its aerodynamic properties.
Judging by the photos, the designers did not have enough time to make the car aesthetically more attractive, but it is quite functional.
Here you can watch a video of the record run done with a GoPro camera inside the car:
Next month, the Unplugged Performance team will try to set new records at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
